How do we go from this… to this?🤔

During the sorting process, magic happens… kind of.
Aluminum is a non-ferrous metal and therefore, non magnetic. So how do we separate aluminum out?

Simple, we make our own “magnet”. Electric currents, called “eddy currents” push back against a magnetic field, and separate the aluminum from the other materials.

Hey! Stop scrolling and please say hi to Mr. Donzell Terry 🏈 👨‍👧‍👦 🥋

Donzell has been with Schupan's Wyoming Bev. Recycling plant for 13 years!

Donzell is a hard worker and always takes the chance to be better. He says, "The opportunities to further my skills — I fill in what they need." That mindset has taken him all over the plant these past 13 years, working hands-on with material every day and knowing exactly what it means to keep it out of a landfill.

Outside work, Donzell's usually with his six kids (three sons, three daughters) at the park or throwing a football, making the trip to Chicago to see family, or at a Chinese buffet so everyone can order exactly what they want. He also has a background in Tai Chi (he can still do a back flip)! This year, Donzell found out that he was going to be a grandfather! "You have that warm feeling when you have your first child — I didn't realize we would have the same feeling with a grandchild". We're so lucky to have him on our team!
