Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Light and Heavy Duty Tow Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tow trucks to assist stranded motorists, recover vehicles, and transport equipment across various locations. **Must reside in Kenosha or within a 10 mile radius for after hours calls.
Duties
*Safely operate light-duty and heavy-duty tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles of all sizes.
*Conduct automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery or repair approach.
*Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate equipment such as winches, straps, and forklifts when necessary.
*Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns professionally.
*Manage conflict situations effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor during stressful recoveries or roadside assistance scenarios.
*Perform routine inspections on tow trucks and related equipment to ensure safety compliance and operational readiness.
*Maintain accurate logs of all services performed, including vehicle details, recovery methods, and time spent on each job.
Experience
*Proven experience operating tow trucks in both light-duty and heavy-duty capacities, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
*Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, including diagnostics, repairs, manual transmissions, and general automotive repair skills.
*Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and possessing a valid driver’s license suitable for towing large vehicles.
*Hands-on experience with flatbed tow trucks, forklifts, and other recovery equipment is highly desirable.
*Previous mechanic experience or automotive repair background is a strong plus.
*Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate tools and techniques.
*Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations professionally while ensuring customer satisfaction.
