What started as a passion for creating chocolate treats for friends and family quickly grew into something more for Kathryn Reynolds. As demand increased and local businesses expressed interest in carrying her products, Kathryn decided to turn her hobby into a business.

To help bring her vision to life, Kathryn connected with the Wilkes University Small Business Development Center - Wilkes SBDC. Through one-on-one consulting, she received guidance on business organization, licensing requirements, and industry research, while also gaining access to additional resources to help launch her business.

Today, The Chocolate Shoppe at Tulip Hollow Farms offers chocolate-covered pretzels, Oreos, rice crispy treats, and other sweet creations to customers and retail partners throughout Luzerne County, bringing a little extra sweetness to the community.

Congratulations to Lynne Nincke of the Small Business Development Center - University of Pittsburgh SBDC, recipient of the 2026 PASBDC State Star award! 🌟

In FY25, Lynne supported 238 clients, delivered 1,500 hours of consulting, and helped facilitate more than $9.2 million in capital infusion. She also plays a key role in the Pennsylvania SBDC’s Digital Marketing Center of Excellence, helping small businesses strengthen their online presence through SEO and social media support. Her dedication, leadership, and impact make her a truly deserving recipient of this honor.
