Most of us want to create something meaningful, but we often stay where it feels safe. We stick with familiar ideas, proven methods, and predictable outcomes. The problem? Growth rarely happens there.

Every breakthrough starts with a step into the unknown.

The first podcast episode.
The first workshop.
The first song.
The first business idea.
The first conversation that feels bigger than you.

Creativity isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about having the courage to explore the questions.

If you want your creativity to grow, don’t just ask what you’re good at. Ask what you’re willing to try. The moments that stretch you are often the moments that shape you.

What’s one creative risk you’ve been putting off that might be worth taking this week?

Join Jason Squires as he sits down with Alex Holcomb to explore how creative leaders can build environments where people feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Alex shares how navigating seasons of feeling overlooked shaped her leadership, why encouragement is essential for long-term creative health, and how she helps younger creatives develop confidence without tying their worth to performance or platform. They also discuss the importance of continuing to grow as a leader, creating space for others to flourish, and what Alex would say to the creative who feels unseen right now. If you’ve ever questioned your value, struggled with comparison, or wondered how to create a culture of belonging, this conversation is for you. The future doesn’t belong to the people who have all the answers. It belongs to the people who keep asking questions.

Curiosity is what pushes us beyond what we’ve always done. It’s what helps leaders grow, creators innovate, and teams discover better ways forward. The moment we think we’ve arrived is often the moment we stop learning.

The most effective leaders I know aren’t the smartest people in the room, they’re the most teachable. They stay curious. They listen. They explore. They experiment. They never lose their sense of wonder.

If you want to thrive in the future, don’t focus on knowing everything. Focus on staying curious.

Because the future belongs to the curious.

Recently, we had the privilege of interviewing Vangie Gunn-Goodwin and we talked about the human side of legacy. Often times when we’re going through something, we can’t see the other side and know why we’re going through it. For the whole episode, visit the link in our bio and listen to episode 231.

Every business started as an idea.
Every movement started as an idea.
Every song, book, invention, ministry, and gadget started as an idea.

Ideas are powerful, but ideas alone don’t change anything.

The thing you need is action.

Too many people are waiting for the perfect timing, the perfect plan, or the perfect level of confidence before they begin. But progress rarely starts with certainty. It starts with a step. The world isn’t shaped by people who have the most ideas. It’s shaped by people who are willing to act on them.

What idea have you been carrying that deserves your next step today?

Sometimes we are asked to do things that is way beyond what seems logical. When you apply human logic, it doesn’t seem like it’s possible. That’s when the fun starts! Check out episode 221 at the link in our bio for more of Ashley Thomas’s story.

The painting hanging in a gallery. The bestselling book. The thriving business. The song that moved millions. None of them began as perfection.

They began as ideas.
Messy notes.
Failed attempts.
Awkward first versions.

Too many creatives stay stuck waiting for their work to be perfect before they share it. But creativity doesn’t thrive in perfection, it grows through the process.

Your first draft isn’t supposed to impress everyone. It’s supposed to exist. The masterpiece comes later through feedback, persistence, and courage. Every creative endeavor starts with the willingness to create something imperfect.

Don’t judge your beginning by someone else’s finished product.

Start the project.
Write the post.
Record the video.
Make the art.
Take the first step.

Your rough draft may be the beginning of something remarkable.

One of the biggest myths about creativity is that the goal is to “arrive.” To reach a point where you know enough, have done enough, or created enough that there’s nothing left to learn. But the most innovative, influential, and creative people never stop being students.

They ask questions.
They seek feedback.
They stay curious.
They remain open to new perspectives.

The moment we think we’ve arrived is often the moment our growth begins to slow. Creativity thrives in humility. It grows when we admit there’s always another skill to develop, another lesson to learn, and another way to see the world. No matter how much experience you have, there is always room to grow.

Stay curious.
Stay teachable.
Keep creating.

Because the best creatives don’t arrive, they keep learning.
