I almost let frustration and pride cost me over $1,000 this week! 😩
I was in an options trade that wasn’t going the way I expected. I had missed the opportunity to get out when I should have, and the losses were adding up FAST.
Everything in me wanted to panic.
But instead of making an emotional decision, I did something simple:
I asked for counsel.
I went to my husband, shared what was happening, and asked, “What do you think I should do?”
His perspective was different from mine, and following that counsel worked in my favor.
It immediately made me think of this scripture:
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” — Proverbs 11:14
Whew. 🙌🏽
Sometimes the smartest financial decision isn't knowing all the answers.
Sometimes it's recognizing when you're too close to the situation to see clearly.
Fear can talk.
Pride can talk.
Greed can talk.
And when money is moving quickly, emotions can get LOUD.
That's why wise counsel matters.
And I'm grateful that God has placed people in my life—including my husband—who can help me see what I may not see for myself.
Wisdom isn't always knowing what to do. Sometimes wisdom is knowing who to ask.
Who is in YOUR circle of counsel when you have an important financial, business, or life decision to make?
Tag someone whose wisdom has saved you from making a costly decision, or send this post to them and tell them, “I'm grateful you're in my corner.” 💚
