Being a small business owner is tough. For every moment of glory, there are nine other problems demanding your attention. It’s hard to step back and appreciate what you’ve built when you’re constantly putting out fires.

I (Dave Stein) know the feeling. Having owned three different companies, I can attest to the profound selflessness involved. You make decisions, some good and some less so, but you always have the best interests of your team and customers at heart.

This brings me to Ben Tridico. Today is Ben's birthday, so please join me in flooding his inbox with affection. Ben is one of the most selfless friends I have, and my greatest compliment to him is this: you're still standing 20 years later. That’s no small feat when only one in five businesses makes it that long.

While it may not be Tridico Design's 20th anniversary (I think we missed it, ha), it is Ben's 52nd birthday. This photo perfectly captures him as a leader—what it doesn't show is me in the background, yelling about what time it was because he had a family event to get to (don't worry, he made it!).

Happy Birthday to the man who makes countless businesses look better. We're all better for having you in our lives, Ben.

The percentage is very low that your old company vinyl wrap will end up on international news associated with war atrocities, but... it's not zero. Always be sure to de-brand and de-wrap your fleet before releasing it from your fleet or business ;)
