2025 was exciting for us, and we transformed a record number of vending banks into modern micromarkets, rolled out 3 new fresh food menus, introduced over 75 new snack and beverage items, and strengthened our partnerships with valued clients across the state.

At Casco Bay Food and Beverage, we believe in doing meaningful work and there may be no greater example of that than our partnership with the Maine Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired through the Business Enterprise Program.
Every day, our employee-owners play an active role in supporting the success of blind and visually impaired entrepreneurs across Maine. Through BEP, these individuals receive training and mentorship to operate self-managed food service businesses from vending machines and snack bars to cafés and Micro Markets. They serve customers at government buildings, colleges, postal facilities, and other high-traffic locations statewide. What makes this partnership truly impactful is that BEP receives no government subsidies. Instead, the program is funded through commissions generated by partners like CBFB and a small set-aside from licensed managers. That means every warehouse pick, every delivery, every clean and well-stocked machine helps generate real opportunity and economic independence for BEP managers.
“Even though society has come a long way from outdated stereotypes, many people still don’t realize how capable and successful blind entrepreneurs can be, ” says Diane Frigon, Program Administrator for BEP. “CBFB’s support helps us prove that every single day.”
