A concrete slab can look dry and still have a moisture problem.
If your moisture test comes back higher than what your coating system allows, that’s when a moisture v***r barrier should come into the conversation.
ProPoxy MoistureBLOK is rated for slabs testing as high as 99% RH.
It’s a 100% solids, two-part epoxy that goes down before the rest of the coating system.
Moisture is one of those things worth checking before you coat the floor.

A good floor finish is only as good as the maintenance behind it.

Lemon Works is neutral, low-foaming and won’t damage the floor finish when used properly.

Use it with a mop or autoscrubber:
• Light cleaning: ½ oz per gallon
• Heavier cleaning: 1–2 oz per gallon

Simple, effective daily maintenance without leaving the floor looking streaky — and it leaves behind a fresh, clean scent instead of that heavy chemical smell.

Not every dull VCT floor needs to be stripped.
A good cleaning may be enough. Burnishing can bring the shine back. If the finish is worn but still sound, a scrub and recoat may be the right move. When the finish has reached the end of its life, that’s when it’s time to strip and start fresh.
The goal is to get the floor where it needs to be without creating more work than necessary.
And when stripping is the right answer, using the right chemical matters too. HydroForce is one we like because it can help cut down on the time and labor that goes into a strip job.
Knowing the floor, the process and the products can save a lot of time and money.

One of the easiest ways to get yourself in trouble on a coating job is guessing how much material you need.
Coverage rate and mix ratio are two numbers we pay a lot of attention to.
Coverage tells you how far the material should go. Try to stretch it too far and you can end up putting it down too thin. Order too little and you’re stopping halfway through the job.
Mix ratio matters just as much. With two-part coatings, “close enough” isn’t a great measuring method.
That’s one reason we use measured mixing containers and put together coverage sheets for our classes.

A lot of our customers know Unique Systems for VCT floor care side of the business.

Floor finish, st*****rs, cleaners, pads, mops and equipment have been a big part of what we do for a long time — and they still are.

But if you haven’t been by in a while, we’ve added quite a bit.

We’re also helping customers with polished concrete, concrete prep, epoxy coatings, diamond tooling, grinders, vacuums and more.

What hasn’t changed is how we try to do business.

If you’re working on a floor and aren’t sure what product, pad, machine or system makes sense, come talk to us. We’d rather help you get the right thing for the job than just sell you something off the shelf.

One thing we wanted people to leave our class with was information they could actually use when they got back on a job.
We put together handouts for coverage calculations, MVB, polyaspartic and the other systems we covered.
Knowing what a product does is one thing. Knowing when to use it, how much you need, and how it fits into the rest of the floor is the part that really matters.
That’s the kind of training we want to keep doing at Unique Systems.
