HIGHLIGHTING | Works by the artist Edward Povey in our May 13th Auction: Curtain Call III + The Actor, The Fool and Eve, and others.

Edward Povey, born in London in 1951, spent his childhood submersed in painting, drawing and writing poetry and music. In his early years he studied at Eastbourne College of Art and Design, as well as The University of Wales. He is known for many private and public works, including his time as a muralist, as well as his development of his extensive Childhood, Illusion and Desire Period of paintings. Povey's style through the decades has been shaped by his childhood experiences, as well as the evolution of human condition. Psychology, symbolism, humanity, surrealism, vulnerability, human connection, emotion, and mortality are all expressed in his artworks.
