Longview SBDC client Dr. Shenequa Miller has been hard at work transforming the Abney Street Park neighborhood of Gilmer, Texas. Her company, SCM Integrity First, has been buying up lots in a blighted section of town and making it livable for Gilmer families again by building high quality affordable homes. The Lending Avenue CDFI certification celebration was a wonderful event for a great cause! Access to capital is a real barrier for entrepreneurs and small business owners in East Texas, especially in underserved markets.
