What started as a family sign company in 1974 has grown into a thriving manufacturing business that continues to invest in Longview and create local jobs.

Since entering the metal fabrication industry in 2008, WPC has expanded from 10 employees to 50 and now partners with OEM manufacturers in Longview including Komatsu and Capacity Trucks. By helping solve production challenges and manufacturing critical components, WPC has become an important part of the regional supply chain.

Longview's industrial base has played a major role in that growth. WPC recently invested in new equipment to support Komatsu's operations, helping ensure key parts can be manufactured locally rather than sourced from outside the region.

Today, the company continues to grow its manufacturing and sign businesses and is currently hiring for two positions.

LeTourneau University is expanding opportunities for students to engage with advanced manufacturing and robotics through the upcoming Weld-X Robotics Camp.

This hands-on summer camp will introduce high school students to industrial welding robotics, programming, and automation using real robotic systems and industry-inspired training experiences.

Participants will:
• Program industrial robots
• Explore robotic welding applications
• Gain exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies
• Develop skills connected to high-demand workforce opportunities

Programs like this help students see that modern manufacturing is highly technical, creative, and innovation-driven.

This nationally recognized credential reflects a high level of leadership, strategy, and practical expertise in workforce development—an area that sits at the core of LEDCO’s mission to support business growth and strengthen our regional economy.

The CWDL, developed in partnership with the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, equips leaders to address today’s workforce challenges with clarity and impact. The program emphasizes three essential competencies:

This week, LEDCO is attending the NSSF Marketing & Leadership Summit in Hilton Head as part of our efforts to bring new jobs and investment opportunities to Longview.

Events like this allow us to share Longview’s story directly with business leaders and manufacturers who may be looking to expand or relocate in the future.
