Longview Economic Development Corporation is proud to share that one of our team members is among the first 17 professionals in the nation to earn the Certified Workforce Development Leader (CWDL) certification through the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP).
This nationally recognized credential reflects a high level of leadership, strategy, and practical expertise in workforce development—an area that sits at the core of LEDCO’s mission to support business growth and strengthen our regional economy.
The CWDL, developed in partnership with the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, equips leaders to address today’s workforce challenges with clarity and impact. The program emphasizes three essential competencies:
Self-awareness and intentional leadership
Building strong, effective partnerships
Turning strategy into action
For Longview, this investment in leadership directly translates into stronger alignment between industry needs and workforce solutions. As we work to attract, retain and expand businesses in key sectors, having advanced expertise in workforce systems ensures we can better support employers, collaborate with education partners and develop talent pipelines that fuel long-term economic growth.
This achievement reflects LEDCO’s ongoing commitment to building capacity within our team and delivering results for the businesses and communities we serve. Congrats, Tim!
