Meet the w**emaker behind Domaine Fortier. 🍷

Stephen Fortier brings a pretty unique background to the world of w**e. With a doctorate in systems engineering, an undergraduate minor in chemistry, an Enology Certificate from UC Davis, and WSET Level 2 certification, there’s plenty of science behind what goes into each bottle.

But for Stephen, great w**e still begins in the vineyard.

His approach to w**emaking is centered around balance, bringing together fruit, acidity, tannin, and alcohol while allowing the character of the grapes and each vintage to shine through.

It’s a combination of science, patience, and a genuine love for the craft, and you can taste a little bit of all three in every bottle of Domaine Fortier w**e. 🍇🍷

A Virginia take on a White Bordeaux, made with 91% steel-aged Sauvignon Blanc and 9% French-oaked Chardonnay from our estate.

There’s a lot that goes into a bottle of w**e before the cork is ever pulled.

The soil beneath the vines, the slope of the land, the sunshine, the rainfall, the climate. Together, these elements create what we call terroir, the unique sense of place that helps shape every vintage.

Here in the Catoctin Valley, that place is part of every bottle we produce. From vineyard to glass, our w**es are made to reflect where they came from.

Sometimes the best weekend plans are the ones that are already close to home. 🍷 Come spend an afternoon among the vines, sip Virginia w**e, take in the views, and remember just how lucky we are to have Virginia W**e Country right in our backyard.
