The rain in September was very welcomed given the record-breaking fire season. However, we will need more precipitation and better fuel conditions to end fire season.

ODF Western Lane and ODF South Cascade remain in Fire Season with LOW Fire Danger and IFPL 1. ODF, LRAPA, and the County Fire Defense Boards have agreed to extend the burn ban until enough moisture has accumulated to mitigate fire risk.

No debris or slash burning is allowed during the Burn Ban. Please cover your piles so they will burn efficiently when the ban is lifted.

Great people of Lowell/Fall Creek and surrounding communities. The nights are getting colder and we are starting to use heaters and electric blankets. Please do not plug them into a power strip because they require more electricity then they can supply. This will cause the power strip to short circut and catch on fire. Please plug them directly into an outlet. Also please do not bundle up an electric blanket while it is on. It will build up heat and cause a fire. Thank you and Go Red Devils.

Its that time of year again when it gets colder and we switch the air conditioner off and the heat is needed. If your using a fire place, please have it cleaned and inspected by a professional. If the chimney is lined with creosite or the chimney has a crack in it, then it could lead to your house catching on fire.

Just a reminder that fire season is in effect. Lane County still has a burn ban in effect.
