A volunteer fire department is much more than a building, fire equipment and men and women who show up when the pagers go off. We would not be able to survive without our communitys support. These past few days has shown how true this is. Hauani Creek VFD would like to say THANK YOU to a few great supporters who have stepped up during and after the large fire on Simpson Road.
Cody Bradshaw and JPrice for offering anything we needed equipment wise and shuttling all over to bring drinking water where needed. Bryson Crosthwait helping building a fire break with his skid steer. Stacy Landgraf and Kelly Goff showing up with pizza to feed all the hungry firefighters. Kathie Mense and Wade Medlin with monetary donations, water and sports drinks. Paula Ayers with a monetary donation. Ron Mitchell with a monetary donation so we can buy crackers and snacks and a couple small ice chest to carry with us. And thanks to everyone that has ever donated anything to not only us but any other volunteer fire department. THANKS AGAIN, we are fortunate to have such great supporters!!

8-25-2026 Simpson Road Fire

Out today managing hot spots and building a fire break with backpack blowers, chain saw and a skid steer.

8-24-2026 Simpson Road Fire

Grass fire with structures in danger. Hauani Creek Fire responded to a large grass and brush fire with a dwelling and barns in danger. All structures were saved with only one small shed sustaining any damage. Around 150 acres and 400 round bales were burnt.
All 10 Marshall County Fire Departments, plus Dickson and Mannsville battled to get it under control. Marshall County EMS had a EMS Unit on scene as well as setting up and manning the Marshall County Fire and Safety Rehab Trailer. Two firefighters were treated for heat related issues. Marshall County S.O. and O.H.P. assisted with shutting down Simpson Rd so fire apparatus could move around safely.
