Here is one of my favorite pieces in our upcoming auction. It's an early Tiffany Studios piece.

Early 19th C. Heavy bronze circular lift top. A rare and unusual paneled iridescent red mosaic glass trim on sides. Signed on verso: Tiffany Studios, New York with Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company monogram. 7″ high x 6″ diameter. 6 lbs. Good original condition. Nice old patina.

Back in the 1920s Mary Lanier Yancey (1902-1983), was an instructor in ceramic engineering at Iowa State College at Ames (now Iowa State University of Science and Technology) and created this glazed and carved earthenware vase with a raised floral and leaf design on a yellow ground. The vase, 5" high x 4" diameter, bears her impressed signature and retains the original $7 price tag. Estimated at $2000/4000, it sold for $14,145 at Marion Antique Auctions
