Local 251 held it's annual sporting clays event this past Friday at Airport Ridge Sporting Clays.

Thank you to all who came out and participated in our event. We are grateful for your continued support of Local 251. We had a great time and hope to see everyone again next year!

As many of you have seen over the last few days we have been promoting our upcoming fundraiser, attached you will find some more details. Even though registration for this year’s event is closed we wanted to let people know where we plan to donate a large portion of the proceeds. We hope that those who are registered to attend will be excited with the preview of the raffle items. We also hope that those who didn’t register for this years event will look forward to next years event and join us.

Cincinnati’s Proposal Should Be a National Movement
Cincinnati didn’t create a controversy. They addressed one.

EMS is not a contingency plan, a staffing band-aid, free labor, a replacement for proper staff training, or a mechanical lift substitute.

EMS is a medical emergency system, not a corporate safety net.

Cincinnati has finally recognized that truth, and our county recognized it years ago. It is past time for EMS systems nationwide to follow.

When long-term care facilities rely on 911 for simple lifts, it indicates that the system is broken, but not on the EMS side.

Lift-assist fees restore the boundaries that should have existed all along. They protect EMS readiness, prevent avoidable injuries, force facilities to follow federal guidelines, and keep ambulances available for actual emergencies.

This isn’t punishment. This is a correction. This is safety. This is necessary.

Cincinnati is making the right call. They weren’t the first, and they won’t be the last.
