There’s an art to crush. 🍇

It starts at the sorting table, where careful eyes and experienced hands help ensure only the fruit we want moves forward.

Then comes the transformation — clusters become berries, berries become must, and another vintage officially begins to take shape.

It can look fast-paced from the outside, but every step is intentional. Sorting. Destemming. Crushing. Each decision helps set the foundation for what that w**e can eventually become.

This is where vineyard meets cellar — and where months of work in the field begin their next chapter.

Every tank deserves a little star power. ⭐🍇
This harvest, our team found a new way to keep track of what’s happening in the cellar: each tank got its own celebrity.

From actors and musicians to a few unexpected famous faces, we let the team’s creativity take over as they decided which celebrity would represent each tank — and, ultimately, the w**es making their way through the 2026 season.

Is it necessary to make great w**e? Probably not. Does it make checking tanks during long harvest days a lot more entertaining? Absolutely.

Just a little personality behind the very serious work happening in the cellar.

Why do some grapes head straight to the press? 🍇
For many white w**es and some roses, the goal is to separate the juice from the skins, seeds and stems early in the process — helping preserve the fresh fruit characteristics, bright acidity and clean profile we’re looking for.
That’s where our Europress comes in.
Freshly harvested fruit can be loaded into the press, where gentle, controlled pressure extracts the juice before it moves on to settling and fermentation. How we press matters: too much pressure can extract harsher compounds from the skins and seeds, so precision is key.
While red w**es typically spend more time with their skins to extract color, tannin and flavor, many whites take a much quicker route from vineyard → press → tank.
Different w**e. Different process. Same attention to every detail.

The pace has picked up… and the crush pad is officially in full swing. 🍇

Grapes are rolling in, the sorting line is moving, and our team is getting hands-on with every lot that comes through the doors.

This is where the work of harvest really begins. Fruit is carefully sorted, removing anything that doesn’t belong before those grapes move on to the next step in their w**emaking journey. From there, it’s crush, press, tank, repeat — with every varietal and every lot calling for its own game plan.

It’s fast. It’s sticky. It’s organized chaos. And it’s one of our favorite times of the year.

Here’s to the long days, purple hands, and another vintage officially underway. 🍷

Harvest wouldn't be the same without the people behind it.
Meet Elizabeth, our harvest intern for the 2026 season! 🍇

Originally from Florida, Elizabeth joined the Naumes Crush team back in May. With a background as a sommelier, she's spent years learning about w**e from the glass—and now she's diving into the other side of the industry by experiencing how great w**es are made from the very beginning.

From the lab to the cellar, she's soaking up every opportunity harvest has to offer, and we couldn't be more excited to have her on the team.

We're thrilled to watch Elizabeth rock her very first crush season with us!

Not every grape spends time on its skins.

For some w**es, freshly harvested fruit heads straight to the press. The goal? Extract beautiful juice while minimizing skin contact to preserve bright fruit flavors, fresh aromatics, and crisp acidity.

Our Europress gives us incredible control throughout the pressing process, allowing us to gently separate juice from the grapes while maintaining quality every step of the way. Gentle pressing means cleaner juice, better aromatics, and ultimately, a more expressive finished w**e.

Sometimes the best w**emaking starts with knowing exactly when not to wait.

Being named the #1 W**e Region in the United States is exciting, but for us, it's also a reminder of what makes Southern Oregon so special.

Behind every award-winning bottle are growers, w**emakers, cellar crews, lab technicians, and harvest teams who spend countless hours crafting w**es that reflect this place we call home.

At Naumes Crush & Fermentation, we're proud to partner with w**eries throughout the Rogue Valley, helping transform exceptional fruit into w**es that continue putting our region on the national stage.

Congratulations to every vineyard, w**ery, and w**emaking team that helped make this recognition possible.

Here's to Southern Oregon—and the people behind every vintage. 🍷

Harvest doesn't start because the calendar says so.
It starts because the grapes tell us they're ready.

Throughout the growing season, our w**emaking team regularly samples fruit throughout the vineyard to monitor:
🍇 Sugar (Brix)
🍇 Acidity (TA)
🍇 pH
🍇 Flavor development

These numbers, combined with taste and experience, help determine the ideal harvest window for each vineyard block.

Great w**e begins long before the grapes reach the crush pad.

Innovation in w**emaking starts with asking, “What if?” 🍊🍷

One of our favorite parts of custom crush is watching our clients push beyond tradition and bring creative ideas to life. This beautiful orange w**e from .vineyard is a perfect example.

Despite the name, orange w**e isn’t made from oranges—it’s made from white grapes that ferment on their skins, much like a red w**e. That extended skin contact creates its signature amber hue, richer texture, and layered flavors that challenge expectations of what a white w**e can be.

Whether you’re experimenting with skin contact, alternative fermentation techniques, or reimagining what your vineyard can produce, we’re here to help turn those ideas into something remarkable.

Dreaming about the possibilities your fruit can become? Let’s make it happen.

July is when the vineyard really comes alive.

The vines are thriving, clusters continue to develop, and every warm afternoon brings us one step closer to harvest. It's one of our favorite times of year—full of anticipation and some of the best views the Rogue Valley has to offer.
