Eleven combined years of building it best.

This summer we celebrate five FAI work anniversaries. Chad Wold, our QC Coordinator and Senior Plumbing Designer, and Thomas Ryals, MEP Designer, are each marking one year. Claudio Salvans, our Electrical Project Manager, hits two years. Michelle Vazquez Chapa, VDC Designer, celebrates three, and Ryan Shields, our Team Development Coordinator, rounds it out at four.

From QC and design to project management and team development, these five set the standard for what FAI delivers every day. Thank you, Chad, Thomas, Claudio, Michelle, and Ryan.

$1.6 billion. 15 gates. DFW's first brand new terminal since 2005. ✈️

Terminal F is a big deal for North Texas, and the plumbing running through it has to be right the first time. That is where FAI comes in.

FAI is modeling the plumbing for a 103,000 sf section of the new terminal, turning the contract drawings into a full 3D Revit plumbing model and a complete set of shop drawings. From there it is BIM coordination: every pipe, every piece of connected equipment, every accessory checked and cleared so the conflicts get solved on screen instead of in the field.

None of it happens in isolation. A huge thank you to KMP Plumbing Heating & Air, who brought us in on the plumbing scope, and to Turner Construction Company, who is leading the build of a terminal that will eventually carry a 400,000 sf concourse, modernized baggage handling, and a new Skylink station.

Watching a project this size come together, gate by gate, is exactly why we do this work.

A new home for Austin's growing city services is taking shape, and we are proud to be part of it. 🏗️

FAI is providing Plumbing BIM Modeling and Shop Drawings for the City of Austin's Northeast Service Center, a multi building, multi story municipal complex of roughly 583,000 SF rising on Johnny Morris Road. Working from the contract drawings, our team is generating a full 3D Revit plumbing model and shop drawings across the Admin, Operations Building and Parking Garage, Service Center, and Training Building, and driving the complete BIM coordination process for the plumbing systems, including connected equipment and accessories, to keep everything clash free before it reaches the field.

Thank you to our customer Salas for trusting us with the plumbing scope, and to Gordon Highlander on the construction side for leading a project that will house Austin Resource Recovery and Austin Fleet Mobility Services on one modern, sustainable campus, complete with a community room, landscaped plazas, public art, and WELL and Austin Energy Green Building certified facilities that advance Austin's zero waste goal.

250 years ago, a group of people bet everything on an idea: that ordinary people, working hard and looking out for one another, could build something worth passing down.

That's the same belief FAI is built upon. We show up, we support each other, and we take pride in the quality of our work because even the smallest jobs can have the biggest impact. The things we build are meant to outlast us, and we're grateful for the small part we have been given in the bigger story. As we remember the sacrifices and hard work of those who come before us, we affirm our commitment to building something worth passing down to those who come after us.

Game day is getting a major upgrade, and we are proud to be part of it. ⚽

FAI is providing the Mechanical BIM Modeling and Shop Drawing scope for the Toyota Stadium renovation, a multi story, roughly 168,000 sf transformation of FC Dallas's home in Frisco. Working from the contract drawings, our team is creating a full 3D Revit mechanical model, then FAI will carry the project through complete BIM coordination and conflict resolution to keep the mechanical systems clash free before anything reaches the field.

Thank you to Venture Mechanical, Inc. for trusting us with the mechanical scope, and to Moss, the GC, for leading a renovation that will give Texas soccer fans a world class venue for years to come.

FAI is excited to be on the team bringing the Dallas Wings' new practice facility to life. 🏀

For this two story, 79,000 sf facility in West Oak Cliff, we are providing Plumbing BIM Modeling and Shop Drawings: a full 3D Revit plumbing model and shop drawings built from the contract drawings, plus complete BIM coordination of the plumbing systems and connected equipment so everything fits before it reaches the field.

In the MEP world, we talk endlessly about mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. But there's a fourth discipline that ties it all together and too often gets treated as an afterthought: Fire Protection.

Fire Protection is the missing link of our industry.

Every sprinkler line, every standpipe, every system we design has one job: protecting people from harm. It has to coordinate cleanly with every other trade in the building, yet it's frequently the last thing brought to the table. We think that needs to change, and we've built our practice around treating FP as a core discipline from day one, not a box to check at the end.

That's why we're proud to highlight Alan Contreras, our Project Manager, Fire Protection. With over 7 years in Fire Protection, including time in the field, Alan handles everything from estimating to design to stock listing. He's grown our FP department into a true differentiator, and his goal says it all: he wants general contractors to see FAI as their go-to designers.

What drives him? In his own words, "I love the idea of creating and designing something that helps protect people from harm."

That mindset is exactly why Fire Protection isn't an add-on at FAI. It's the link that completes the chain.

Big thank you to Mesquite ISD for having us at the Career Fair on May 12th!

Our team had a blast meeting juniors and seniors and introducing them to Virtual Design & Construction, a career field a most students have never even heard of.

Today's construction industry is part hard hat, part high-tech. We loved getting to show students how designing and building the schools, hospitals, data centers, and skylines around them can be a real career path waiting for the next generation of technically inclined builders.

Thanks to every student who stopped by the booth. You're the future of building.
