TIS THE SEASON - Monday starts hurricane season and it’s almost as if the atmosphere knows this. Lots of tropical moisture will pool in the Gulf next week - don’t be shocked if we see some weak spin develop off our coast later in the week. Considering how saturated we are, a weak storm would have my attention due to the rain threat. Lots of time to watch!

THE SEASON NEARS - A little over two weeks till the start of Hurricane Season 2026. Check the names, Leah is the replacement for Laura after it was retired.

A Super Nino is building in the Pacific which should keep this season in check. I’d caution you, watch for some early season weak storms forming in the Gulf. That’s typical in this type of year

A storm is headed our way. 🌀 You are planning to stick it out and stay in your home. 🏠 Do you have all of your supplies ready?

Now is the time to start getting your supplies together if you plan on not evacuating for a hurricane. 🌀

Here is a list of things you will need. 📝

✅️ Bottled water 💧 (one gallon per person per day, enough for at least 3 days)
✅️ Flashlights 🔦
✅️ Extra batteries 🔋
✅️ Canned/Non-perishable food 🥫(enough for at least 3 days)
✅️ Battery powered radio 📻
✅️ Manual can opener
✅️ First-aid kit
✅️ Backup phone charger 🪫

We hope this list will help you start preparing for the upcoming hurricane 🌀 season by getting your supplies ready now before a storm threatens our area.

If a major storm threatens our area, local officials may call for an evacuation. Evacuations are typically done by zones so it is important that you know what zone you live in and what route you will use to get out of town. 🌀

Follow the guidance of your local officials and be ready to go if the order is given. 🚗
