**Grant Intake Form Deadline Extended** Friday, August 28th.

Grant opportunity alert!!! Are you a business owner with an idea for a project that would help create new or support existing jobs in Addison County? If so, read on!

ACEDC is helping local businesses apply for the Vermont Building Communities Grant Program, which provides up to $25,000 in matching funds for capital projects that support job creation or retention. Examples of eligible expenses include equipment purchases, facility improvements, renovations, and other shovel-ready capital investments.

Because ACEDC must submit applications on behalf of businesses, we're asking interested businesses to complete this short intake form by Friday, August 28th:

We'll review submissions and determine which projects are the best fit for this year's funding round.

On Saturday, August 15th, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Addison County Economic Development will host an *INDOOR "GARAGE SALE" Full of office furniture and supplies!

Desks (large and small)
Tables (rectangular, round, large, small)
Sitting chairs for conference tables
Office chairs with casters
Filing cabinets
Bookshelves
Kitchen Hutch
Office supplies such as binders, organizers, pencils
Random electronics like cables, a conference call speaker system, old laptops (may need charging cords)
Framed pictures of historic places in Addison County as well as other images and scenes.

Addison County Solid Waste Management District

In addition to running the District Transfer Station and Residential Drop-Off in Middlebury, Addison County Solid Waste Management District is a resource for all in Addison County.

Here are some reminders of the ongoing FREE services ACSWD provides:

*FOR SCHOOLS*
~ ACSWD offers waste check-ins to ensure proper disposal of all required items.

~ ACSWD's Public Outreach Coordinator, Emily, can walk through your system and help solve waste-related problems.

~ Additionally, ACSWD offers classroom lessons ranging from a presentation on recycling, composting, and waste to arts and crafts projects. Emily can read stories, play games, and teach the kids about how waste works in Vermont.

~ The Addison County Solid Waste District also supplies posters for classroom waste bins.

*FOR BUSINESSES*
~ ACSWD offers waste audits, answers questions, supplies flyers and posters for waste bins, discusses trash, recycling, compost, and hazardous waste, and helps guide businesses through compliance with ACT 148 and the Single-Use Products law. Contact us anytime!

*FOR THE COMMUNITY*
~Staff at ACSWD can answer questions surrounding your waste.

~ ACSWD also hosts compost and recycling workshops periodically and tables at local events with giveaway items.

~ Notably, once a year ACSWD hosts the Repair Fair, where residents can have common household items repaired by our team of expert fixers.
