While Moab may not experience layers of snow, we are already experiencing strong winds! Please use caution when visiting our facilities as flying debris may be a possibility - gusts up to 55 mph are expected. Stay safe out there!

A cold front is moving through eastern Utah along I-70 early this morning. Thunderstorms along this front could bring wind gusts to 55 mph and possibly higher. High profile vehicles will be especially vulnerable to these strong gusts. Blowing dust and a mix of rain and snow could impact visibility to less than a mile at times as well.

Every once in a while, contamination gains traction at the Community Recycle Center and we like to correct contamination as quickly as possible! This quick guide to mixed paper recycling showcases acceptable (office paper, magazines, chipboard, etc.) and non-acceptable (toilet and tissue paper, paper towels, paper plates, etc.) materials that go into our bins. Take a moment to make sure your not adding the wrong type of paper! By recycling right, you make a difference!

The Community Recycle Center will be closing early today at 2:30PM ((rescheduled for tomorrow 1/29/26)) for mandatory company-wide training! We will resume regular hours of operation tomorrow, January 29th. Thank you for your understanding!

A huge thank you to all the individuals who showed up this past Wednesday for our monthly Green Gatherings meeting! Excellent discussions and insightful suggestions were had including a fair amount of laughter. Just like the endless loop of recycling, we'll keep promoting our monthly Green Gatherings community meeting! Everyone is encouraged to attend, bring their sustainability questions, or just enjoy the delicious snacks we'll be serving! See you tomorrow at the CRC from 5PM - 6:30PM ♻

We've received several phone calls regarding the "Temporarily Closed" status of the Community Recycle Center and we'd like to clarify that the Community Recycle Center is OPEN. We are unsure why it was labeled as closed but the issue has been resolved. We apologize for the confusion.

As a reminder, the Community Recycle Center is open Tuesday - Friday 8AM - 4PM and Saturday 8AM - 12PM. It is closed on Monday, Sunday, and most federal holidays.

From composting to squashing recycling myths, Green Gatherings opens up discussion on the topics that interest you most. We've had some excellent conversations with folks in the past meetings and want to continue that energy!
