Big news! 📚✨ A powerful new book has arrived that speaks to every season of life.

Collected Wisdom: Life Lessons for Every Season by Cathy Tooley is a thoughtful collection of short reflections drawn from real experiences of joy, loss, faith, and perseverance. Each page is a reminder that growth does not come from one big moment, but from the small, steady choices we make every day.

This is the kind of book you do not rush through. You pause with it, reflect with it, and let it meet you exactly where you are. 💭📖

Whether you are leading, learning, healing, or simply becoming, this is your invitation to slow down and take in some wisdom for the journey ahead. https://www.amazon.com/Collected-Wisdom-Lessons-Every-Season/dp/197073504X

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you.”

A powerful reminder that rest is not optional. It’s necessary. In a world that constantly demands more, sometimes the most productive thing you can do is step away, reset, and allow yourself to recharge.

Vocabulary doesn't have to feel repetitive or routine. It can be engaging, unpredictable, and fun for students! 🎯

Cathy Tooley shares a simple strategy using a brown paper bag filled with vocabulary cards. Students take turns drawing a card at random and completing the vocabulary task, keeping everyone alert since they never know which word will come next.

This method boosts engagement, increases rigor, and ensures students master the full set of vocabulary, not just familiar words.

For extra support, a second “troublemaker words” bag can be used for the most challenging terms, alternating between both until mastery is achieved.

Simple structure. Strong engagement. Lasting learning.

The school year ends and teachers finally get to exhale, but June is more than just recovery time. It’s also a rare opportunity to gain clarity on what worked, what didn’t, and what needs to shift before next year begins.

Rest is essential, but a small amount of intentional reflection can make a big difference in your impact next school year.

Looking at data, student work, and classroom patterns helps turn experience into insight instead of guesswork. You don't need a full overhaul, just a few focused priorities and small, meaningful adjustments.

Give yourself permission to rest deeply, then use a little time to reflect and reset with purpose.

Your future self in August will thank you. https://toolsforsuccessindy.com/blog/

💡 Teacher Tip Tuesday: Rest is productive!

You've poured into others all year, now it’s time to refill your own cup. Rest is not a reward, it’s part of the work. Prioritize rest in June and give yourself permission to pause before planning. A refreshed teacher is a more effective teacher.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” — William Butler Yeats 🍎

A powerful reminder for every educator: your role isn’t just to deliver content. It’s to spark curiosity, inspire thinking, and ignite something that lasts far beyond the classroom.

Keep lighting the fire.

Teacher Tip Tuesday: The End Is Just as Important as the Beginning 💭

Remind students that how they finish matters. Effort, focus, and responsibility still count. Ending strong builds habits that carry into the next grade and beyond.

The final stretch is where mindset is reinforced and growth is solidified. Keep expectations high and help students finish with purpose!

⏱️ CATHY'S 2 MINUTE RULE 📣

If something takes less than two minutes, it gets done before instruction starts. No delays and no interruptions once the lesson has begun.

This strategy is about protecting instructional time. Small tasks like sharpening pencils, getting materials out, or opening books should happen at the beginning of class so teaching can start right away.

When this routine is in place, students settle in more quickly and there are fewer pauses during instruction. It keeps the focus on learning instead of constant small transitions.

At its core, this is about the teacher setting and maintaining expectations so the classroom runs with structure and consistency.

A simple routine that helps create more time for actual teaching and learning. Learn more about us at www.toolsforsuccessindy.com.

Teacher Tip Tuesday: Don't Let Expectations Slip!

Students will rise or fall to the expectations you set. Maintain the same behavior and academic standards you established at the beginning of the school year. Consistency now prevents confusion, disengagement, and chaos later.

The final weeks are not the time to lower the bar. They're the time to reinforce it. Stay steady, stay consistent, and finish strong.
