🚨 WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HITS, WILL YOUR BUSINESS BE READY?

Today, the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce brought local business professionals together for WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HITS: The Macomb Business Resilience Seminar at Macomb Community College.

Led by Brandon Lewis, Director of Macomb County Emergency Management and Communications, the seminar focused on a critical question: How prepared is your business to handle an unexpected disruption?

From severe weather and power outages to technology failures and other emergencies, even a single incident can interrupt operations. Attendees explored practical steps to help protect employees, maintain essential business functions, recover technology and data, and communicate effectively during a crisis.

One important takeaway? Preparedness involves more than having a plan. Your team needs to understand it, know their roles, and be ready to put it into action.

📸 Take a look at highlights from today's seminar!

A special thank-you to our program sponsors—Macomb Community College, Baker College, Nickel & Saph, Inc., and United Shore Professional Baseball League USPBL—for supporting this important educational opportunity for our business community.

Couldn't join us? Follow the Macomb County Chamber for future opportunities to gain practical knowledge, connect with local professionals, and strengthen your business.

🇺🇸 A Historic Day for Selfridge, Macomb County, and Michigan!

Today, I was proud to join military leaders, elected officials, and community partners at Selfridge Air National Guard Base for the groundbreaking of the $152 million runway project. This is a major milestone in securing the future of this vital military installation.

From my perspective with the Macomb County Chamber and as an Executive Board member of the Selfridge Base Community Council, today’s groundbreaking represents so much more than infrastructure. It represents economic opportunity, national defense, and a commitment to the future of our community.

This investment will help prepare Selfridge for the arrival of F-15EX fighter jets and KC-46A tankers in 2028, and strengthen a base that supports approximately 30,000 jobs across Michigan.

Selfridge is an essential part of Macomb County’s identity and economic strength. Its impact reaches far beyond the base itself, supporting local businesses, skilled trades, manufacturers, suppliers, military families, and communities throughout our region.

Today’s milestone is the result of years of advocacy, collaboration, and a shared commitment to Selfridge’s future. It demonstrates what can happen when military leadership, government, business, and community partners work together toward a common goal. What a testament to what can be accomplished when we work together!

I am proud to stand alongside those who continue to champion Selfridge and recognize the vital role it plays in our national security and regional economy.

The future is taking shape at Selfridge and Macomb County stands ready to be a part of it! 🇺🇸

BEYOND NETWORKING. ADVOCATING FOR BUSINESS.

Some of the most important work your Chamber does happens behind the scenes.

As the voice of the business community, the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce works to ensure that the issues affecting our members are part of the conversation when decisions are made that shape Macomb County’s economic future.

One example? Our 2026 General Election Candidate Ratings.

Through Macomb Advocacy for Business (MAB), the Chamber invited more than 40 candidates on Macomb County ballots to participate in a bipartisan evaluation process, including questionnaires and interviews focused on economic development, the business environment and the future of our region.

We thank the candidates who participated in this process. Candidates who did not participate or complete the evaluation were not rated.

These ratings are not endorsements. They provide voters with additional information about candidates’ qualifications and understanding of issues affecting our business community.

This is part of what it means to have a Chamber working on your behalf—not just at networking events, but where business policy, economic growth and our region’s future are being shaped.
