Sexual harassment complaints at a workplace should always be taken seriously. We are currently conducting a workplace incident investigation where a sexual harassment complaint was filed. Our investigation will determine if the allegations are true and if any violations of company policies occurred. As a trained, licensed investigator, we are impartial and fair. Tiffany & Nalaboff Investigations is now fully licensed in the state of Texas. Our agency license number is A31165501, and the Texas private investigator license is 177294301. We expanded into Texas to meet the needs of our clients, some of which have branches in California, Oregon, Washington, and Texas. This three month process included registering with the Texas Secretary of State, passing exams and background checks, and meeting requirements for three separate licenses at both the business and individual levels. Even though we are remaining in the great city of Murrieta, we now offer investigations on subjects and real property located in Texas.

This week Tiffany & Nalaboff Investigations contacted a bail bonds company in order to discern if a subject that was arrested for spousal abuse was the same person who applied for a job. In California, criminal records are not filtered by DOB, so if the job applicant has the same name as a criminal, the results show up. Our authorization forms warn applicants of this possibility, and there is a disclaimer on the report, but we understand that these results are concerning for employers. If the criminal record had included the name of the spouse, we could have eliminated it from the report, but victims are not identified in criminal records in most cases. However, the bail bonds company was identified in this case, and they were kind enough to assist. We were able to confirm that the job applicant was not the defendant in the spousal abuse criminal matter.

What does a notary do? A notarized document reflects that the person who signed the document did so in the presence of the notary, and that the signer provided proof to the notary that they are who they say they are, such as a driver's license and a fingerprint. The stamp on the document must also meet regulations. Notaries are regulated by the state, and must keep their commissions current and be registered. Our fraud investigations sometimes find discrepancies with the notary which could invalidate the document and transaction.

This week Tiffany & Nalaboff Investigations reviewed a legal document that was allegedly fraudulent. The first thing we noticed after a thorough review was that the title company named on the document is legitimate, but the address was just ever so slightly off. For example, in the photo above, imagine that the address should be 264 Maston St., Detroit, MI 48236. This was an intentional deceptive act, which prevented the title company from seeing the document and getting suspicious. We found more examples of deception on the document. This act of fraud is about a $1.2 million mortgage. Luckily, we know what to look for and are helping the client.

This week Tiffany & Nalaboff Investigations hit the bullseye in terms of finding the right person. We have been conducting an heir investigation for several weeks on a subject who passed away at the age of 108. Her children had already passed away and she had no grandchildren. However, she had a sister who had grandchildren, and that's who we were looking for. After weeks of research, we spoke to someone who knew the subject and they gave us one name. We found a person with a similar name and reached out to her. She is the great niece of the subject, and responded to our letter, providing us with all (8) of the names and addresses of the next of kin. investigation

Tomorrow is the four year anniversary of when my dad passed away. Did you know that our business name, Tiffany & Nalaboff Investigations, comes from him? My dad, George Steele Tiffany, started Tiffany Investigations after selling my grandfather's and grandmother's investigation agency, Hughes Investigations. I worked at both Hughes Investigations and Tiffany Investigations until 2019 when I started my own agency. The name Tiffany is not just a maiden name, it's decades of experience as a successful private investigator through multiple generations. My dad taught me so much about this industry and I am forever grateful for his expertise.
