"Speed isn't the same as wisdom."

That's one of the most important leadership conversations happening right now.

AI is transforming the way we work, create, market, and communicate. But as powerful as these tools are, they raise an important question:

How do we use them without losing our voice, our discernment, and our conviction?

In this episode, Ray Edwards shares a surprising discovery. After using AI to generate blog posts and emails, engagement began to decline. The content was technically good- but something was missing.

People respond to authenticity.

Technology can accelerate processes, but it cannot replace the wisdom, creativity, and unique perspective that come from being human.

Join us for a thoughtful conversation about AI, leadership, authenticity, and embracing innovation without surrendering what makes you uniquely you.

What has been your experience using AI in your business or work?

Most Christian business leaders have a complicated relationship with marketing.

Some avoid it because they don't want to sound pushy, self-promotional, or manipulative.

Others embrace the available tools and strategies yet still have a lingering sense that something isn't quite right.

What if the issue isn't marketing itself?

What if the deeper issue is what's motivating us?

This week's conversation with Ray Edwards explores that tension honestly and practically. Together we discuss how to market with integrity, serve people well, and grow your business without compromising your values.

It's one of the most candid conversations we've had on the podcast and one that every business owner, entrepreneur, and leader should hear.

"Business is a spiritual pursuit whether you are doing it consciously or not. It is empowered by one of two agencies. The devil or the Spirit of God."

That's one of the most thought-provoking statements Ray Edwards makes in this week's Heaven in Business podcast episode.

Many people think of business as separate from faith. But every decision we make, every relationship we build, every product we create, and every message we communicate flows from something deeper.

Business reveals what is happening in our hearts.

If what drives us is fear, control, or self-promotion, that eventually becomes visible.
If what drives us is a genuine desire to help people, solve problems, and serve others well, that becomes visible too.

The goal isn't simply to build a successful business.

The goal is to become the kind of person God can trust with greater influence.

How do you know if marketing has crossed the line into manipulation?

Here's a simple filter:
If it requires you to feel afraid, confused, pressured, or rushed to make a decision, that's a red flag.

Even if the product is good.
Even if the person is sincere.
Even if it's being sold with Christian language attached.

Healthy influence helps people make informed decisions.

Manipulation tries to control the outcome.

As Kingdom business leaders, we're called to communicate with integrity, serve people well, and reflect God's character in the way we lead and market.

Most Christian business leaders find themselves in one of two camps.

Some avoid marketing altogether because they don't want to come across as pushy, salesy, or manipulative.

Others embrace every new tool and strategy available, but quietly wonder if they've crossed a line somewhere along the way.

Ray Edwards has spent decades helping businesses communicate more effectively.
He's also had the humility to examine and walk away from marketing techniques that worked, but didn't align with his values.

This week on the Heaven in Business podcast, Andy Mason and Ray Edwards tackle some important questions:
β€’ Is marketing inherently manipulative?
β€’ What's the difference between persuasion and control?
β€’ How should Christians think about AI and influence?
β€’ How do you grow without compromising integrity?

It's an honest conversation that every business owner, leader, and entrepreneur needs to hear.

One of the easiest ways to lose momentum is to forget your story.
Paul didn't.

He said, "Remember my chains."
He remembered where he had come from.
He remembered God's faithfulness.
He remembered the process that shaped him into who he had become.

I've found that many leaders get discouraged because they become focused on what's not working instead of recognizing where God is already producing fruit.

When Janine and I take time away for a personal retreat or mini-sabbatical, we aren't trying to escape reality. We're intentionally creating space to recenter, realign, and refocus.

We ask ourselves:
β€’ Where is there evidence of life?
β€’ What is producing fruit?
β€’ Where do we see hope, joy, peace, and purpose?
β€’ What reminds us that we were born for this?

Then we come back to an even more important question:
What has God said?

Because identity is not found in our circumstances, our successes, our failures, or even our feelings.
Identity is anchored in the timeless truth of God's Word.

When life gets busy, complicated, or overwhelming, we need to return to the Scriptures that have carried us through previous seasons and allow them to anchor us once again.

What passage of Scripture has anchored you through a difficult season?

What if the clues to your next season are already in front of you?

Instead of focusing on what's not working, look for the evidence of life, hope, joy, and purpose.

Jesus said we recognize a tree by its fruit. The same is true for our lives.

Pay attention to where God is already producing fruit. That's often where He's leading.

What area of your life is showing the most fruit right now?

Most breakthrough doesn't begin with a massive life change.

It begins with a small act of obedience.

In John 21, the disciples spent the entire night fishing and caught absolutely nothing.

Then Jesus gave them one instruction:
"Cast the net on the other side."

They weren't asked to change boats.
They weren't asked to change careers.
They weren't asked to change locations.

Just a simple three-foot shift.

And that small adjustment released a catch so large they could barely contain it.

I've found that many of us are praying for breakthrough while overlooking the small things God is already highlighting.

Perhaps it's returning to a daily rhythm of Scripture.
Perhaps it's generosity.
Perhaps it's a difficult conversation.
Perhaps it's finally saying yes to an opportunity you've felt prompted toward for months.

The challenge isn't always finding a new strategy.

Often it's responding to the last instruction God gave us.

If this resonates with you, I encourage you to listen to the full Heaven in Business Podcast episode. We unpack practical ways to identify and implement the "three-foot shifts" that create momentum in your life, leadership, and business.

What might your "three-foot shift" be right now?

People often think their biggest challenge is failure.

But sometimes success can be just as dangerous.

One person is frustrated because they've done everything they know to do and aren't seeing the results they expected.

Another person has the business, the growth, the influence, and the success, but they're wondering why it still isn't satisfying.

Both are asking the same question:
"Have I missed it?"

The good news is that God never intended us to build our lives around performance alone.

Isaiah 55 reminds us:
"Why spend your money on what does not satisfy?"

There is a way to build with purpose, passion, peace, and partnership with God.

In this week's Heaven in Business Podcast episode, we unpack practical keys to help you realign, regain momentum, and rediscover the significance behind what you're building.
