✨ SELFIE SUNDAY ✨

This is, without question, the most meaningful selfie I have ever taken.

In my hands is a photograph that represents legacy, leadership, service, and friendship. A photo I took.

Thirty years ago, my mother, Patricia Polson Satterfield helped charter a Links chapter in Queens, New York. She planted seeds that would impact generations of women, families, and communities.

Today, I am humbled and honored to say that her daughter has become a member of The Long Island (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.

As I look at this picture, I don't just see a photograph—I see a legacy fulfilled. I see the example my mother set through her commitment to service, excellence, and community engagement. I see the shoulders upon which I stand. And I see the continuation of a journey that began long before I ever imagined becoming a member of the Links, Incorporated myself.

This moment is deeply personal. It is a reminder that the values we teach, the lives we touch, and the paths we create for others can echo across generations.

Mom, thank you for showing me what service looks like. Thank you for being a trailblazer. Thank you for leaving a legacy worth continuing.

Today, I proudly carry that legacy forward.

✨ Throwback Thursday ✨

Nineteen years old, a student at Hampton University, singing in Concert Choir, and carrying a heart full of joy, dreams, and possibility.

Looking at this photo takes me back to a season when life felt wide open. I was surrounded by music, friendship, and the excitement of discovering who I was becoming. Every rehearsal, every performance, and every note sung helped shape the woman I am today.

What I love most about this picture isn't just the smile—it's the happiness behind it. The confidence, the hope, the energy, and the belief that anything was possible.

That 19-year-old young woman had no idea where life would take her, but she showed up with passion, purpose, and a song in her heart. And for that, I am grateful.

Tonight was a special night as my youngest son headed off to his 8th Grade Dance looking incredibly handsome in his grandfather's tuxedo jacket.

As I watched him get dressed, I couldn't help but smile. Not only did he look sharp and confident, but he was also carrying a piece of family history with him. Seeing him wear his grandfather's jacket was a beautiful reminder that while our children are growing up and creating their own stories, they are also connected to the legacy of those who came before them.

My heart is overflowing with pride. I am so proud of the young man he is becoming—kind, thoughtful, resilient, and uniquely himself. Tonight, he wasn't just dressed for a dance; he was stepping into another milestone on his journey.

Handsome, confident, and making his mama proud. ❤️

On Sunday, we celebrated my oldest, Allen on College Signing Day. My Future Global Leader has chosen his choice for college, Pennsylvania College of the Arts (PCAD). This is just the beginning.

The highlight of the day was Allen's speech. My son not only thanked his family, friends and the men of the Brooklyn Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. But shared his story of perserverance and resilience.

Congratulations to all the Brooklyn Kappa League Class of 2026 graduates, especially my son. Allen David Williams, Jr. He is ready for his next journey.

IT'S SELFIE SUNDAY... ☀️📸✨

The first week of June has been filled with warm weather, warm vibes, and beautiful moments worth celebrating.

From touring PCAD with my oldest son as he prepares for his next chapter, to enjoying great conversation and laughter with a friend, and wrapping up the week with an unforgettable girls' night—my heart is full.

Life moves fast, and I'm learning to embrace every opportunity to create memories, nurture relationships, and enjoy the journey. June is already reminding me that joy can be found in both the big milestones and the simple moments spent with people who make you smile.

Here's to sunshine, good company, new adventures, and living life fully. 💛

This is a 34-year journey.

Today, I am celebrating my friend, soror, fellow Hamptonian, and the godmother of my son, Stacy Lyles

For more than three decades, Stacy has been a tireless champion for students with disabilities in both the public and private sectors. She is one of the reasons I became a special education teacher and administrator, and she has been an important part of the village that has helped me raise my oldest son.

Words cannot express how proud and happy I am to share that Stacy was named Educator of the Year for 2025–2026 by the Bronx School of Excellence. This recognition is a testament to her unwavering hard work, dedication, and advocacy on behalf of children with special needs.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Stacy generously volunteers her time each year alongside President Allen David Williams to support the annual CEC 29 History Fair, where she has been instrumental to the event’s continued success.

Through every stage of her career, Stacy has remained committed to uplifting, encouraging, and inspiring her students to reach their fullest potential. Her impact extends far beyond the classroom, touching countless lives along the way.

I am honored to call her my friend and blessed to have known her since the 6th grade. Today, my friend, sister, and soror received her flowers—and they are so well deserved.

Congratulations, Stacy! Your dedication, passion, and service have made a lasting difference, and I couldn't be happier to see you receive this well-earned recognition. 💐❤️

Honoring my grandfather, Captain Grady Harvard Polson — a proud medic who served during the Korean War from 1951–1953 with the 25th Infantry Division, “Tropical Lightning.”

In the middle of chaos, he chose compassion. He carried courage, sacrifice, and service wherever he went, caring for others when they needed it most. His strength wasn’t only in surviving war, but in preserving humanity through it.

Because of men like him, generations after could live with freedom and opportunity. Your legacy lives on in our family every single day, Grandpa. We remember your service, your bravery, and your heart. 🇺🇸⚡
