Let’s Begin
The itinerary begins and ends in Bari, the capital of Puglia, with included airport transfers and a guided city tour covering the historic old town, Basilica of San Nicola and key cultural landmarks.
Key stops include Trani, known for its white stone cathedral; Castel del Monte, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of southern Italy’s most distinctive medieval structures; and Alberobello, home to the region’s iconic trulli houses.
A full-day excursion to Matera offers insight into one of Italy’s most historically significant destinations. Advisors tour the Sassi di Matera, cave dwellings inhabited for more than 9,000 years, along with the city’s Romanesque cathedral and panoramic viewpoints. The Salento portion of the itinerary features a guided tour of Lecce, often referred to as the “Florence of the South,” followed by time in Otranto.
Hotels & More
Accommodations are in four-star hotels in Bari, Alberobello and Lecce. The FAM includes multiple guided tours, select entrance fees, most dinners and daily breakfast.
