One of the strongest takeaways from my webinar called “Color Synesthetically” yesterday was this: color is never just visual. It shapes emotion, memory, atmosphere, and the way we experience the world around us.

Here are a few ideas I hope stayed with you:

• Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon where stimulation of one sense triggers experiences in another. Some people may see colors while listening to music, or taste flavors when hearing sounds.

• When designing spaces for the collective, we must also care for the needs of the individual.

• Color speaks to us on an emotional and sensory level. It influences mood, conjures associations, evokes memory, and becomes a powerful form of self-expression.
