I know it's been a while but… 🤔 Can I say something without y’all getting mad?
SOME OF Y’ALL HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH YOUR PASTOR IS SACRIFICING JUST TO KEEP YOUR CHURCH DOORS OPEN. ❤️👀
Now, I know we talk a lot about pastors who take advantage of their congregations. And TRUST ME, we’re going to continue having those conversations! 😂
BUT TODAY, I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE PASTORS WHO REALLY HAVE A HEART FOR GOD’S PEOPLE.
The ones who aren’t getting rich off the church.
The ones who may work full-time jobs, run businesses, or have other sources of income because the church simply cannot afford to pay them what they’re worth.
And sometimes, the little money the church DOES give them ends up right back in the church!
SOME OF THE PASTORS WHO’S KEEPING THE CHURCH GOING ARE THE SAME PASTORS THE CHURCH IS FAILING TO TAKE CARE OF. 👀
When the church is short on the mortgage, they’re quietly making up the difference.
When a member needs groceries, help with rent, or money to keep the lights on, they’re reaching into their own pockets.
And most of the congregation will never know about it.
BECAUSE THEY’RE NOT DOING IT FOR APPLAUSE. THEY’RE DOING IT BECAUSE THEY CARE.
But the sacrifice doesn’t stop with money.
Hospital visits. Funerals. Counseling. Emergencies. Late-night phone calls.
And don’t let them miss ONE phone call! 😂
Some people will remember the ONE time their pastor wasn’t available and forget the HUNDREDS of times they were.
AND WHO’S CHECKING ON THE PASTOR?
Who’s asking if THEY need help?
Who’s making sure THEIR family is doing okay?
Who’s making sure THEY get some rest?
We expect pastors to pray for everybody, encourage everybody, comfort everybody, and be strong for everybody.
BUT WHO’S BEING STRONG FOR THEM WHEN THEY DON’T HAVE ANYTHING LEFT TO GIVE?
📖 1 Timothy 5:17–18 teaches that elders who lead well, especially those who work in preaching and teaching, are worthy of honor, and that the worker deserves their wages.
📖 Galatians 6:6 teaches that those who receive instruction in the Word should share good things with those who teach them.
TAKING CARE OF YOUR PASTOR ISN’T JUST A NICE GESTURE. IT’S BIBLICAL!
And I’m not talking about putting pastors on pedestals, making them untouchable, or treating them like they’re above accountability.
I’m talking about showing genuine appreciation to somebody who’s been showing up for YOU.
Sometimes that means making sure they’re compensated fairly.
Sometimes it’s giving them time to rest without making them feel guilty.
And sometimes it’s checking on them without needing a single thing.
Because some pastors are carrying burdens they will NEVER bring into the pulpit.
They’re preaching hope while dealing with their own disappointments.
They’re encouraging people while trying to encourage themselves.
They’re standing before the congregation every Sunday, giving their best, even when life hasn’t been giving them much of a break.
PLEASE DON’T WAIT UNTIL YOUR PASTOR IS RETIRED, BURNED OUT, OR LYING IN A CASKET TO TELL EVERYBODY HOW MUCH THEY MEANT TO YOU.
GIVE THEM THEIR FLOWERS WHILE THEY CAN STILL SMELL THEM. ❤️
And today, I want to do something a little different.

TAG YOUR PASTOR! Tell us their name, the church they serve, and ONE thing they’ve done that makes you appreciate them.
Maybe they showed up when nobody else did. Maybe they helped you through one of the hardest times of your life. Maybe they’ve simply been a faithful example of what a pastor should be.
Whatever it is, LET’S GIVE THEM THEIR FLOWERS TODAY!
And to every pastor who’s doing the work, making the sacrifices, and serving faithfully even when nobody sees it…
