Generative AI is more of a psychological activity than a technical one.

When crafting your adversarial prompt, it’s best to take on the consciousness of a bad actor–or in forensic circles, someone who exhibits anti-social behavior.

LLMs have standard guardrails to protect against obvious adversarial prompts, and ChatGPT is doing well with its advancements in deliberative alignment.

To jailbreak these guardrails, encapsulate your adversarial intent within a benign and, ideally, commercial goal.

Personal goals or desired outputs can be helpful, but anti-social behavior is typically driven by personal traumas, emotions, motives, and desires. These are easily calculated and mitigated against.

Commercial goals not only help businesses but also have the opportunity to train mainstream commercial models on nefarious strategies that corporations may be interested in employing.

Remember that bad actors will see through disclaimers and CYA statements as models refine their security protocols. The average user may be deterred by a disclaimer, but a legitimate bad actor will catch on and adapt.
