A question we ask every new client:

"If you lost your top 10 customers tomorrow what would be the result?"

The answers can be very revealing, and surprising. Sometimes the revenue number is smaller than expected. Sometimes two clients represent 60% of the business. Sometimes a CEO realizes they've been chasing customers who are expensive to serve and unlikely to stay.

We worked with a CEO who said something that stuck with me:

“My team is great. I just can’t let go.”

And she meant it.

Her team was strong, capable, committed, and ready for more.
But every meaningful decision still found its way back to her.
