Bring Home the Butterflies
An exhibit case inside the Ten Mile River Scout Museum in Narrowsburg, NY.

The exhibit explains the life stages of the Monarch Butterfly, which travel annual from breeding grounds in New York and northward to overwintering roosts in the Oyamel fir forests high in the mountains of central Mexico, West of Mexico City.

The interpretive panels explain the issues that are reducing Monarch populations. Which, in turn, impacts our food production and the health of other plants. The panels also offer ways to build pollinator habitat while earning up to seven different Merit Badges.

Funding provided by the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway's initiative to promote the "Flyway Along the Byway" of New York State Route 97, along with additional in-kind services from W Design. Graphics are adapted from a brochure that W Design and Debra Conway of the Delaware Company created.

A Celebration of the American Immigrant Story: The Countless Hands that Built America

🇺🇸 🔔 A bronze-cast America250 Liberty Bell has been installed at the Belmonte Silk Mill (now the Hawley Silk Mill) in Hawley, PA, to represent the American Industrial Revolution in the 1800s.

The laborers (sometimes very young and often not included in the story of America’s industrial development), the creative ideas (including the D&H Canal, America’s first million-dollar corporation that provided the energy for the Industrial Revolution), and the other industries that quickly followed. Like the glass and textile industries of Hawley and the surrounding area.

W Design helped to illustrate this story through interpretive panels.

W Design worked with the Delaware Highlands Conservancy (DHC) to design wayfinding signage for their headquarters at the Van Scott Nature Reserve.

Visitors are welcomed by a 3-dimensional entrance sign based on DHC's logo of an eagle soaring over the Delaware River valley. Additional signs assist visitors in navigating the campus to parking areas, trails, and the office.

Signs use local timber from Estemerwalt Log Homes and locally-made custom brackets. Finehand Signs brought the designs to life.

Sullivan County Farmers Markets

W Design worked with Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County to build a brand to represent multiple farmers' markets across the county.

Since 2016, we've created annual brochures and advertisements listing the markets in English and Spanish. Along with supporting marketing materials like A-frame market signs, temporary tattoos, scavenger hunts, posters, and charts to assist the public on the benefits each market honors.

Sullivan Fresh Community Cupboard – Together We Are Better

Connecting folks in Sullivan County with FREE fresh, nutritious food sourced from local farms, along with pantry basics. Our refrigerated van delivers food to registered customers door-to-door.

🌼 Here Comes the Sun, doo-doo-doo 🌼

🌲 The Holiday Tree in Barryville serves as the backdrop for community events like Trunk or Treat and the end-of-year tree lighting. Year-round, the cul-de-sac welcomes kayakers and those who fish the Delaware River or walk alongside it.

🎨 The sea of black top surrounding the tree became a blank canvas for community volunteers to help bring W Design's mural to life.

Funding by The Greater Barryville Chamber of Commerce, Sullivan Renaissance, and community donations.

Creativity unleashed in Santa Barbara.

Shelton suggest, “Don’t let inspiration go once you’ve got it. You’ve gotta write it down fast, no matter where you are, or what the timing might be. You’ll catch up to everything else, but this idea might slip away if you don’t at least sketch it out and get it going.”

“This architecture is a reflection of humanity. I strive to make sure that in the shadows or the color, there is some sort of celebration of life.”

Shades of Gray... our obsession with the "lack" of color? Has it been determined by choice or ease of production.

Gray pigments are all over our homes and our products. But despite what TikTokers claim, the rainbow is still alive and well.

Netflix's bespoke font called "Netflix Sans" is clean, functional, subtly inspired by the brand’s famous logo, and... economical. Consider developing your "own" brand font, instead of paying for foundries' licenses.
