Advocacy days are always productive, but they’re even better when you get to spend them alongside great clients and partners.

Last week, we welcomed leadership from the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments to Sacramento, including President Ed Reece and Director of Government & Community Relations Ricky Choi, for a full day of legislative and budget advocacy.

Our discussions focused on advancing the SGVCOG-sponsored bill, AB 1786 (Harabedian), which would provide local agencies with additional procurement and contracting flexibility for critical infrastructure projects. We also advocated for key regional budget priorities and continued to make the case for dedicated Local Housing Trust Fund investments as part of the state’s housing bond conversation.

Thank you to Assemblymember Harabedian and his team for their leadership in carrying SGVCOG’s sponsored legislation and helping move these important priorities forward.

Our TPA Washington, D.C. team had a great time at the Congressional Baseball Game last night! ⚾

Federal Advocacy Director Ben Goldeen, Federal Advocacy Manager Joseph Melo, Senior Associate Sammi Maciel, Federal Legislative Analyst Joe Hansen, and Federal Advocacy Intern Francisco Pham joined thousands of attendees for one of Washington’s most unique annual traditions, bringing together Members of Congress, staff, and partners from across the country.

It was a fun evening to connect with colleagues, strengthen relationships, and enjoy a great game. We're proud of the work our federal team does every day to advocate for California communities and appreciated the opportunity to be part of this event.

Last month, TPA joined Discovery Cube's Chief Executive Officer Joe Adams in Sacramento for First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom's "Connecting in Community" event, which highlighted the important role that youth sports, recreation, and community programming play in supporting both physical and mental well-being.

The discussion brought together leaders from across California to explore ways to expand opportunities for youth engagement, encourage healthy lifestyles, and strengthen community connections. TPA is proud to support organizations like Discovery Cube that are helping create innovative programs and experiences that inspire more engaged and connected communities.
