Your backup job says "success" every night. That means the job ran.

It doesn't tell you how long it takes to get the ERP back, whether the database comes back clean, or whether the floor can print travelers and ship by afternoon.

Before you trust it, test it:
- Restore the ERP to an isolated machine, not just a few files
- Time it from "we're down" to "people can log in"
- Have someone from the floor or accounting confirm the data looks right
- Write down what broke and who fixed it
- Put the next test on the calendar

The proposed HIPAA Security Rule overhaul still isn't final. HHS's current regulatory agenda projects final action in July 2027, and that's a planning estimate, not a deadline.

Two things are still true:
- The current Security Rule applies today. Risk analysis, risk management, and safeguards aren't optional while you wait.
- What the proposal leans toward is no secret: MFA, an asset inventory and network map, segmentation, tested restores, and evidence that controls actually work.

None of that is wasted work if the final rule changes. It's just good practice that will be easier to prove later.

Protect patient data and meet HIPAA requirements. Risk assessments, Security Rule implementation, BAA management, and breach prevention for healthcare…

A Google review we didn't write:

"TRNSFRM is a fabulous company to work with! They are knowledgeable, professional, reliable, prompt, and friendly. My company works with them daily and they provide excellent IT service for the 47+ locations we have. They are quick but also thorough."

Sophia, Google

"Quick but also thorough" is the hard part. Quick is easy if you skip the root cause. Across 47 locations, a skipped root cause shows up again next week at the next site.

A buyer at a prime emails you a drawing package marked CUI.

Within an hour it can be in an inbox, on a laptop, synced to a phone, in the job folder, on the printer, loaded in CAM, and forwarded to the plater for a quote. Every one of those places now holds CUI.

A simple exercise: pick one recent controlled drawing and trace it. Where did it arrive? How many copies exist now? Who has seen it? Did it leave the building?

That tells you more about your real CUI boundary than the policy binder does. We walked through it from receipt to delete.

Renaming a VLAN "OT" does not make it segmented.

If an office PC, a guest phone, or a vendor laptop can reach a PLC, CNC, or trailer controller without passing a deliberate choke point, you have a flat network with machines on it.

You do not fix that with a weekend rip and replace on a live line or an active jobsite. You carve it in slices:
1. Map what actually talks to what, with ops in the room
2. Kill the easy lateral moves first: guest Wi-Fi, default passwords, open vendor remote access
3. A few zones, enforced with rules at the choke points
4. One cell, line, or trailer at a time
5. Monitoring once the boundary exists

Our 30-day carve plan for plants and jobsites, without stopping the job:

Your software vendor is not an easy button for assuming your risk.

I talk with a lot of businesses who think that because their customer data and process data live on a vendor's infrastructure, the vendor owns the risk if there's a cyber incident.

That is not true. You cannot write off your risk that way.

Put the basics in place:
- Written policies for what happens if that vendor is breached
- Clear actions and customer notification steps
- A real read on business impact
- Insurance that actually covers that risk

And do not stop at the contract. Understand their protections. Know your process for a breach or even simple downtime. It is an assumed IT risk even when it is not a cyber event.

The email looks exactly right. Same sub, same signature, same project thread.

"Our bank changed. Please update before this pay cycle."

That is how construction payment fraud usually works. Nobody hacks your bank. One email changes one account number, and nobody picks up the phone.

The fix is mostly process:
- Verify every bank change by phone, using the number you already had on file
- Second person approves the change in accounting
- MFA on the shared AP mailbox
- Alerts on new inbox rules and external forwarding

We wrote up how these attacks play out and what to do in the first hour if a payment already went out.

CMMC Phase 2 third-party assessments are still on hold.

DFARS 252.204-7012 is not. NIST SP 800-171 is not. An honest SPRS score and a named senior affirmation are not.

We wrote what manufacturers and DoD suppliers should still do while the Reform Task Force report sits unpublished: keep the SSP current, fix the controls that move the score, and stop treating the pause like a holiday.

A $20M+ precision manufacturer needed CMMC to enter defense.

Flat network. Commercial M365. Legacy ERP. No SSP.

In under 12 months we rebuilt it: 5 VLANs, 100% of CUI in GCC High, ERP cutover on a weekend.

Production days lost: 0.

That's what "audit-ready" is supposed to mean.

Manufacturing doesn't need a ticket queue that smiles and stalls. It needs a team that shows up, finishes the hard work, and keeps production moving.
