Just taking a moment to mention Tom Muntean, a member of the North Royalton Chamber of Commerce, passed away last week.

Those that met Tom quickly learned that he was a proud family man, hard working, always had a smile, positive attitude and willingness to help anyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and was an incredible businessman with such a rich background of experiences and connections he graciously shared with anyone who asked for help.

You may have met Tom at our monthly luncheons (he was the speaker at our January lunch) or the North Royalton Home Days where he helped sell tickets for our raffle. He had been instrumental in assisting with this year’s Chamber Golf Outing coming up next month. He was also a member of the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce and was always giving back to the community.

Please join us in our condolences for Tom’s family and keep them in your thoughts.

A little City of North Royalton OH history lesson. Have you ever wondered about that white and brick office building in front of Giant Eagle on State Road? Well it’s almost 50 years old! Constructed in 1977 by Ron and Louise Perkins. They owned what is now Perkins Insurance Agency, Inc.

The business location started out in 1956. Before this current location they were in a building that was located where CVS is now. They moved into the building in 1978 and allowed for three levels of office space to rent out to other businesses as well. The agency is operated by second and third generation family members and in addition to the Royalton location, also has one in Medina.

Chamber members The Brookhaven Group and Root & Bloom Counseling and Wellness, LLC are located in the building in addition to the insurance agency along with several other businesses.
