We're getting close...the concrete is being poured and prepared inside the expansion. Timing is perfect. It will be "open for business" in October and we'll start filling it with product in advance of the 2027 pool & spa season. That gives our customers even more of the certainty and reliability they've come to expect from us, which they can't get from China -- let alone other domestic suppliers -- in an era of ongoing geopolitical and supply chain stresses.

The next two weeks mark the end of swim season for countless families across the USA and Canada. The end of summer, the nearness of colder weather, and the return to school sees many families enjoying one last hurrah, closing their pool during the Labor Day weekend.

A couple weeks ago, we hosted a bunch of young people participating in Dream It Do It Western New York's incredible Niagara County Manufacturing Mayhem camp.

We discussed production, supply chains, and much more. Then, they were able to tour the plant floor and see a variety of products being made.

With the school year starting in just a few weeks, it's a good time to let teachers know that their students are welcome, too. Today was a great day as we got to spend a few hours with some great people -- the Big Dogs unit of Harrison's Playmakers - Buffalo. They heard our story; toured the factory with Mark, Carl, and Eric; got to see the construction at our warehouse expansion where they met Justin of Tedesco Construction Services/ Montante Group; and had lunch at the plant.

We loved seeing their wide-eyed appreciation for manufacturing and construction and we loved hearing about everything they are doing in their lives.

Our warehouse expansion is moving along nicely! It certainly looks like we'll be able to move-in in early October. That's perfect timing to fill it with sleds for the winter and pool & spa supplies and patio furniture for next season. That's what makes the new space so invaluable to our customers: We the ability to create inventory and be immediately responsive to demand and market trends...an immediacy that our Chinese competitors don't have.

A pleasant surprise for us this year has been the success and popularity of the Leisure Accents bench kit!

We've sold a bunch and quite a few customers made repeat purchases because they liked their first one so much.

Whether you’re creating a small entryway bench or a long patio seat, this kit gives you the freedom to choose your size, color, and finish. This easy-to-assemble DIY kit lets you build a completely custom bench using standard 2x4 lumber — simply cut five 2x4s to your preferred length (anywhere from 24" to 72") and secure them to the sturdy resin bench ends using 4" stainless steel screws (2x4s and screws not included).

There's a display in our front lobby that is a museum of sorts, showing some of the smaller products we've made through the years, including some that are 50 years old.

We added something different to it today: A license plate.

A pair of plates was discovered at the Confer homestead yesterday and they have an interesting connection to Confer Plastics.

You'll notice two things with the plate. The 1973 registration sticker and the AG (agriculture) designation.

1973 is the year Confer Plastics was founded....and the year Ray Confer literally bet the farm to make his dream a reality. To get a loan from the bank to buy molding machines, he put up as collateral, as his personal guarantee, the house and the entire farm -- land, animals, crops, and farm equipment, including that which had this plate on it.

This plate will help tell the story of CPI, the American Dream, and the entrepreneurial spirit -- and incredible risk -- that went into making the company and keeping it alive.

People love our bistro table sets.

Unlike wooden tables and chairs that can rot or metal ones that can rust, our tables and stools are pretty darn indestructible and multi-purpose. They're used on patios, in hunting platforms, at Scout camps, in football tailgate parties, and so much more.

A few years ago we received this photo from a happy customer who absolutely loves to use it when camping. What a really neat way to cool off and relax on a hot summer day!
