We at Confer Plastics are excited to celebrate the expansion of our warehouse and distribution center in the town of Wheatfield.

This nearly 30,000 sq. ft. expansion marks an exciting milestone for Confer Plastics, providing additional space to support our shipping and distribution operations as the company continues to grow our pool & spa, furniture, and snow sports lines.

A big thank-you to Tedesco Construction Services, a division of Montante Group, for their work in bringing this project to life, and to everyone who helped make this expansion possible. We’re proud to continue investing in our facilities, our team, our future, and our country.

Here’s to continued growth and getting our products where they need to go!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Abbie, her family, and the team from Abbie’s Angels Foundation Inc. to Confer Plastics for a special factory tour!

As a proud supporter of Abbie’s Angels, we’re grateful for the opportunity to spend time with this incredible family and the people behind a foundation that makes such a meaningful difference for caregivers of differently-abled children facing unexpected medical emergencies.

When people donate to food pantries it's usually canned goods that kids all too often aren’t much interested in eating. That’s why Pete Robinson of Lockport founded the Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive in 2010: He wanted to provide local needy families with foods that kids enjoy.

This year's PB&J Drive officially begins November 1st and it goes until December 10th with donation bins for unopened jars of peanut butter, jelly and marshmallow Fluff being set up all over the Niagara Frontier.

Confer Plastics, Inc. is a drop-off site for North Tonawanda and we've already put out the bin.

The blue drop-off bin is just inside the front door of our office, in the foyer right next to our mini-museum.

If you stop by after our standard business hours, please place the jars on the office's "front porch" (they'll be protected from the elements there) and we will put them in the bin in the morning.

Thank you for your donations -- in this era of inflation, your jars of yummy goodness will go a long way in helping families and community food pantries

We are thankful for the nomination!

We do have a pretty cool team when you think not only of our long history of innovation, but also all the things we've introduced in recent years (like the 9300 swimming pool step/ladder that serves all ages and abilities) and those we will be introducing (wait until you see our new kids line in 2027).

In two weeks, you will get to enjoy our first-ever podcast. Once, maybe even twice, a month, you'll get to meet people from our world...coworkers, customers, retailers, suppliers, transportation, and more. The half hour conversations of "confer with Confer" will give you insight into our supply chain (which is also YOUR supply chain). You'll learn about how things are made, moved, and marketed.

In that top pic, our guys might look like the "please adopt us" photo of an animal shelter, but they were the ones doing the adopting today...specifically, they adopted a trail.

They did their first ever quarterly pick-up of the the trails/driveways of Gratwick Park for our new Adopt-a-Trail partnership with the Niagara River Greenway Commission and the city of North Tonawanda. Previously, our crew had done an annual pick-up of the river shore for Earth Day, so this was their first terrestrial clean-up of the park.

They got less than a bag of garbage. Someone else had done a clean-up in recent days and had amassed quite a few bags of trash and loose items. Kudos to whoever did that!

Thank you to Eric, Mark, and Ronnie for beginning a new tradition to support the community and Mother Nature.

Pat brilliantly served Confer Plastics for decades. His approach to sales -- character, professionalism with a genuine smile, and long-term relationship-building -- put countless Confer pool & spa products in distributors' warehouses and dealers' retail shelves. His work at Reeder & Vermaat kept our team busy...and in retirement his legacy, the relationships he built, will continue to benefit our team.

It's hard to believe that sledding season is coming soon! Manufacturing begins in October and marketing begins in November.

This season you'll notice an addition to our branding.

Last year, after having added the Zipfy to our sales channels that once were the sole domain of the Retro Racer, we thought it would be good to put all the sleds (these two and more in the future) under one umbrella: the American Sled Company.

The name highlights this great country where all of the sleds and their materials, components, and packaging are made.

Today is a big milestone anniversary!

FIFTY years ago today -- September 28th, 1976 -- Doug Confer got the patent for the flexible funnel, a device now found in garages and auto shops around the world!

The item was invented when 24 year-old Doug was working on the family farm in Gasport (that in itself is a testament to the work ethic of Ray and Doug Confer – they ran a farm AND a factory!).

Back then, fuel and oil funnels were made out of metal that would either corrode or not clean very well. So, Doug thought, why not make them out of plastic at their recently-founded plastics company? Plastic wouldn’t corrode and leave pieces of metal in fuel tanks, and it would be much cheaper than the metal alternatives. Plus, the flexibility of plastic allows you to access hard-to-reach places.

Doug received his patent in September of 1976 and Confer Plastics then made hundreds of thousands of the funnels until the patent expired 14 years later. After that, Mexico and China could make them far cheaper than we ever could. We lost all market share.

We never lost the molds, though. They were sitting in storage in our warehouse. So, for the company's 50th anniversary three years ago, after a 30+ year hiatus, we got the molds out of storage and brought the funnel back to life, doing consumer direct sales (as a 3rd party seller on Amazon) hoping we can get back a little bit of that business from China.
