The Confer Classic is more than a golf tournament. It's also a raffle...a REALLY BIG RAFFLE that's open to the public!

From 7:30 AM until 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 24th, the public is welcome to visit Willowbrook Golf Course & Restaurant on Route 78 in the town of Lockport to bid on great prizes. All proceeds benefit local scouts.

The standard raffle is $10 for a sheet of 25 tickets. Three for $25.

There is a big ticket raffle that is $5 each, 6 for $25.

There is a special raffle for a HUGE Lego set. That raffle's tickets are $10 each, 3 for $25.

There are 100+ baskets and single prizes featuring a wide range of items...like gift cards, patio furniture, a big basket of adult beverages, a kayak, a grill, golf gear, and much more!

In other words, bring A LOT of money because there are A LOT of great prizes and you'll be supporting local kids who will enjoy and learn from all that Scouting provides.

"Thank you!" to our prize donors and bidders, and the crew managing the raffle. And a special thank you to Connie for amassing and organizing prizes over the past twelve months.

Throughout our history, we've made a lot of unique products and a lot of large products. To do that, we need unique and large molds.

That's been possible thanks to the good people at Woodward Industries -- https://www.woodwardind.com/ -- who make our molds in Tonawanda, just minutes away from our factory.

Last week, Dan Woodward's career and impact were celebrated with a retirement party hosted by his family. Dan is leaving the business in great hands as his kids and coworkers will keep the Woodward family's American Dream vibrant, a dream that has been in operation since 1953!

It is a well-deserved retirement -- Dan worked his tail off, provided leadership and nurturing, and created a lasting legacy.

We thank him for all the possibilities that he helped us turn into realities.

90% of our revenues come from products that put people in or on water, whether it's in its liquid state or frozen.

The things we make -- be they Confer-branded or custom items -- allow families to get outdoors together and enjoy pools, spas, lakes, ice, and sledding hills.

We are only 4 weeks away from the always fun and always impactful Confer Classic Golf Tournament. On Wednesday, June 24th, 2026 we will be holding this annual event at Willowbrook Golf Course & Restaurant.

All proceeds benefit Scouting America. The local scout council – Great Falls Council, Scouting America – serves 5,300 cub scouts, scouts, and explorers across 14 counties of Western NY, Central NY, and Northern PA. Its camping properties are Camp Sam Wood, Camp Scouthaven, and Camp Gorton.

This year, the Classic's profits are earmarked for purchasing program supplies and equipment to enhance all of the camps with emphases on technology (video production merit badge, internet expansion), safety (communication and fire systems), and general programming (aquatics, shooting sports, and outdoor skills in particular).

May is National Water Safety Month.

Water safety is essential to our products. We want families to have nothing but positive memories with their swimming pools so we've designed our ladders and steps with safety in mind.

Our Pool Entry System and Step-1 step feature a self-closing, self-latching gate that can be locked shut.

Our 7200 and 9300 have the patented RollGuard which encloses the treads when no one is around to watch the pool.

The 7000 and 7100 ladders can have their outer sections lifted up and then locked with the supplied padlock.

Our 6000, 7000, and 7100 series ladders have an anti-entrapment barrier which prevents kids from swimming behind or through the treads.

And, every one of our ladders and steps gets a copy of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance's "Children Aren't Waterproof", which we believe should be required reading for everyone who owns a swimming pool.

Yesterday, Buffalo Business First celebrated industry in Western New York with their annual manufacturing awards ceremony. On May 9th of 1967 our founder Ray Confer and his business partner at AirMold, Pete Schurman, received the patent (which they would later sell off) for their invention -- the living hinge -- which became a widely used application in the plastics industry.

Prior to their idea, blow molded storage containers/boxes were molded in two separate halves and assembled together using a metal hinge. Their invention eliminated the need for the extra parts, assembly time, and costs by compression molding a hinge between the halves so it was actually a part of the container itself.

It was a simple, yet effective, development...and a popular one, too, with manufacturers. You can see the living hinge everywhere in your day-to-day life -- BILLIONS of blow molded containers, tool boxes, and tackle boxes using it have been made by manufacturers around the world.
