This Labor Day, we recognize the hardworking, consistent, and dedicated people who keep our industry moving forward.

Over the years, our team and our industry have made incredible strides in how we recycle, manufacture, innovate, and operate more sustainably. That progress doesn’t happen on its own. It is built every day by people who show up, work hard, solve problems, and continue finding better ways to do what we do.

Innovation may shape the future of our industry, but it is people who make that progress possible.

To our CASS team and hardworking people across our industry: thank you for the work you do and the progress you continue to make.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

🌱 Thanks to a generous neighbor, a fridge found a new home at Acta Non Verba's West Oakland Farm Park !

At Acta Non Verba, urban farming is about much more than growing food. Their Oakland farms cultivate opportunity, connection, and meaningful experiences. From hands-on learning at Camp ANV to college and career preparation through the No Limit Leadership Program, ANV is helping Oakland youth build skills and experiences they can carry into the future.

We’re happy to help  give this fridge a second life while supporting a local organization investing in the next generation. 💚

Congratulations to this year’s Fuego Youth Leaders on an incredible showcase! After four weeks of developing new skills in industrial art, teaching, and community building, these students presented a remarkable gallery of work spanning Blacksmithing, Ceramics, Glass Flameworking, Foundry, Jewelry, and Welding.

Mayor Barbara Lee said it best, “When the city invests in our young people, we invest in the future of Oakland.” Thank you, The Crucible . We’re grateful to support a program that celebrates creativity and craftsmanship, and invests in the next generation of leaders.

The pieces featured in this video were created using recycled metals from CASS. 📏

Today, on World Nature Conservation Day, we celebrate the incredible beauty, biodiversity, and resilience of our planet. From forests and rivers to oceans and wildlife, healthy ecosystems sustain life, inspire us, and remind us of our shared responsibility to preserve and protect the natural world.

Conserving nature requires thoughtful action at every level. Governments, businesses, communities, and individuals all have a role to play through responsible energy use, water conservation, sustainable food systems, emissions reduction, and the responsible management of raw materials. Recycling is an essential part of that effort, helping keep valuable materials in circulation, reducing the need for new resource extraction, and supporting a more resilient future. Together, today’s actions can help preserve the planet’s natural beauty and biodiversity for generations to come.

We had the honor of hosting The Crucible’s Fuego interns today for our annual tour of the CASS Oakland’s Recycling Operations.

For over a decade, CASS has been a proud supporter of The Crucible ‘s Youth Programs and the Fuego Youth Leaders. Investing in our youth is one of the most important & rewarding contributions we make to our community. Each new generation of students reminds us that our bright future will be shaped by curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to keep learning.

We’re looking forward to next week’s Fuego Showcase, where we’ll get to see the incredible projects the Fuego interns have created—many using metals sourced from CASS!

And to our customers, suppliers, neighbors, first responders, service workers, and industry & community partners, thank you for everything you do to help keep America moving forward.

We are grateful to be part of this community and proud to do our part in supporting American manufacturing through responsible metal recycling.

We wish you a safe & happy Fourth of July. 🇺🇸
