I was honored to be the photographer for the FACES portrait series for Iron Gate this year! There's a showing of this work next week at Trinity Episcopal Church (501 S Cincinnati) from 5:30-7:30 on Thursday April 16.

Join us at Trinity Episcopal Church (501 S Cincinnati) from 5:30-7:30 on Thursday April 16 for the opening of our Faces of Iron Gate exhibition. The event will feature drinks and hors d'ouvres and the chance to learn about our neighbors.

"I am honored to have been selected as the photographer for this year's FACES of Iron Gate portrait series. I have always admired Iron Gate and the work they do for those in need in our community every single day. The service they provide is extremely important work, and their demand is greater today than it has ever been before. Through these portraits, I wanted to shed a light on the humanity and resilience of the individuals they serve, with the hope that others will see the impact Iron Gate has on so many lives. At this pivotal time in our society, it is vital that we lead with empathy and remember that we are all inextricably connected. My hope is that this series reminds us that every person has a story worth telling and honoring, and that together, we can create a more compassionate community."

This time last year I was boarding a plane to Mumbai with 🤯 We spent two weeks traveling around India where we had an amazing food tour in Mumbai and then spent a week in Delhi where Shannon taught sewing & jewelry making at a women’s shelter (I even got to teach a photo class!) We toured palaces, bustling markets and even went on a safari 🐅 At times it was overwhelming because I wanted to photograph everything - the colors, spices, architecture and people. I learned so much and became even more fascinated with India and the cuisine and I’m glad I’m finally sharing some photos from that trip 😅!!

Last night I photographed my last event of the year! And it was one of my favorites with . At the end of each graduating class they have an event where guests get to try out the amazing food from the entrepreneurs. For the past several years I’ve photographed the graduations and I also get to create a video for each event that explains the mission of K66 and introduces the graduates. These are a few of my favorite moments, it’s so fun to meet these food entrepreneurs and help share their story. I’m thankful for Kitchen66 and all the work they do to support our foodie community here in Tulsa 💛

New work with - I recently shot new headshots of their team along with updated branding photos, and over the years, I’ve gotten to capture some cool author events as well. It’s such a joy to collaborate with a local bookstore that means so much to the community (and to me). 📚
