I’ve been working with Shannon Smith for over 10 years and these are some of my favorite recipe photos we’ve ever taken together - so that’s saying something! She recently released a new Indian e-book full of so many delicious recipes (seriously, I got to try them all!!) we had so much fun styling these recipe shots with fabric and dishes that she brought home from her travels in India. I just keep staring at all the textures and color.

I was honored to be the photographer for the FACES portrait series for Iron Gate this year! There's a showing of this work next week at Trinity Episcopal Church (501 S Cincinnati) from 5:30-7:30 on Thursday April 16.

Join us at Trinity Episcopal Church (501 S Cincinnati) from 5:30-7:30 on Thursday April 16 for the opening of our Faces of Iron Gate exhibition. The event will feature drinks and hors d'ouvres and the chance to learn about our neighbors.

I have always admired Iron Gate and the work they do for those in need in our community every single day. This time last year I was boarding a plane to Mumbai with 🤯 We spent two weeks traveling around India where we had an amazing food tour in Mumbai and then spent a week in Delhi where Shannon taught sewing & jewelry making at a women’s shelter (I even got to teach a photo class!) We toured palaces, bustling markets and even went on a safari 🐅 At times it was overwhelming because I wanted to photograph everything - the colors, spices, architecture and people. I learned so much and became even more fascinated with India and the cuisine and I’m glad I’m finally sharing some photos from that trip 😅!!
