For many that is or was their reality, especially if they tried to do it on their own, coming up with their own ads or what the specials are. Your advertising/marketing person couldn't repair cars, stands to reason you're not going to be great at marketing your shop.

Even if you're not doing your own ads there are somethings you should know -- Based on consumer survey responses here are the things most important to them. Warranty. Convenience. Trust and how they can pay. These aren’t the only things but the most important!

That's what your ad should be about! What your prospect wants, what THEY’RE looking for??? It doesn’t matter that you think your ASE certification is a big deal if they don’t even know what that means for them!

They care about ‘family owned & operated’ overall consumers feel more comfortable dealing that type of a shop as opposed to a chain or box store. These are all trust issues!

Just a little guidance for those who are going to try to do your own ads or so that when someone else does it for you, you know what should be included in the ad.

There is nothing more important than creating deep relationships with your clients, so they refer you and buy from you more often. Start with a monthly newsletter (even if it’s only digital)! It should be at least once a week put it out using different media, like email, voice broadcast, video, etc.

Why this is my favorite? The #1 reasons consumers say that stopped going to a shop they were happy with is they forgot about them.
