Taking in the views at Finca El Retiro in Fraijanes. As harvest wraps up, the focus shifts to what truly sets great coffees apart—intentional farm management. Shade tree trimming and precise pruning are critical to maintaining plant health, improving sun & airflow. Setting the foundation for exquisite coffees and stronger yields for years to come.

Sustainability is also front of mind, with a solar energy system in progress to power water needs and support nearby communities. It’s this level of care—from land to people—that continues to elevate the quality coming out of Guatemala.

We’re proud to grow our partnership with this producer and look forward to bringing these coffees to roasters and consumers across the U.S. ☕️🇬🇹

Guatemala harvest is wrapping up. Huehuetenango and Santa Rosa lots are finishing on the patios, with parchment moving into final milling and export prep. Cuppings are showing excellent body, sweetness, and clean finish — all PSS approved.

These coffees are the result of disciplined work across the entire chain—producers, pickers, wet mills, dry mills, logistics teams, Qgraders, importers. From origin to your roastery, every step matters. All hands aligned from farm to cup!

Fresh crop arrivals begin early May. Happy to share samples. 🇬🇹

Harvest is beginning to wind down after a busy few months on Finca Los Arboles in Guatemala’s Nuevo Oriente region. Our final pickings of Bourbon and Catuai are coming in beautifully ripe, all selectively hand-picked, and the quality across the new lots has been excellent.

Many of the trees you see are Galileo shade trees we planted by hand eight years ago, now forming part of the canopy that protects the farm’s coffee.

Fresh crop coffees will begin arriving April 2026.

If you’d like to cup the new harvest, green samples are available upon request while the first lots are still available. 🌎☕️

A live look at our SL28 in the Nuevo Oriente region of Guatemala 🌱
Grown at 1,800 masl, the cherries are turning red—just in time for the holidays. These changing colors mean harvest season is right around the corner. The final weeks of the year always tell the story, and this one is looking sweet.

We’re excited to bring more Guatemala coffees your way in the coming year. Wishing our community joy, warmth, and plenty of caffeine! ☕

Remember this specialty drink? It was such a favorite that we couldn’t let it go… the Peanut Butter Shaken Espresso is now a permanent feature! 🥜☕

Sweet, salty, and just the right amount of bold, it’s pure comfort in a cup. Shaken with rich chocolate, peanut butter powder, and Mountain High Coffee espresso, then finished with Black Obsidian Salt, and available hot or iced.

It’s the perfect excuse for a coffee break.

A Little Sunday Funday Story: Walter and I, fellow Bluejays, attended the same school in Perry, Iowa, where we shared a passion for football and playing the sport. As Guatemalan coffee enthusiasts, we had long aspired to launch our coffee business, but budget constraints hindered us. We started small, with Walter establishing Mountain High Coffee and me founding Rise Up Specialty Coffee. Years later, we connected and formed a partnership LLC, giving rise to Bosque Alto Coffees, born from our long-held dream. Notably, we've consistently sampled Guatemalan coffee until we decided to produce a small lot, and now we're importing the finest Guatemalan coffee available in Iowa. Mountain High Coffee Rise Up Specialty Coffee meet us 2 small IOWA dudes serving you the finest coffee ☕️
