There are many rewards that come with entrepreneurship, but one of the greatest gifts of this journey for me has been the opportunity to mentor the next generation of entrepreneurs.💛🖤
Spending the day with my high school intern, Imani, from Girard College at the Black August Summit hosted by Mom Your Business was a full-circle reminder of why this work matters.
Imani supported us at our interactive "Entrepreneurs Word Wall”activation, but she was doing so much more than helping at a station. I had the opportunity to watch her network, self-advocate, connect with people, and step into a professional space with confidence, in real time.
What made me especially proud was watching her take coaching feedback on how to engage people with our activation and immediately apply it. She listened, adjusted, tried again, and grew throughout the day. 👏🏾
That’s the power of workplace exposure and mentorship.
As business leaders, we are building more than companies, we have the opportunity to open doors, share what we've learned, create experiences, and help young people see a pathway from their dreams to their reality.
The future is watching us. Let’s give them something worth building. 🚀
Imani did an incredible job interning with 5 Tribe Vending, and I’m proud of the young woman she is becoming and the entrepreneur she has the potential to be.
