Today, we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America.

Two and a half centuries ago, a group of ordinary men made an extraordinary decision. Our Founding Fathers risked their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to declare that freedom was worth fighting for. They believed that every person was created equal and that liberty, opportunity, and self-government were worth defending for generations to come.

Since then, America has faced wars, hardships, triumphs, and moments that have tested our resolve. Through it all, the strength of this nation has always come from its people, those who serve, those who build, those who innovate, and those who work every day to leave this country better than they found it.
