Are you mentoring a youth hunter this weekend? If so, and the young hunter takes their first ever deer, I highly suggest you see to it that it gets mounted. You only ever get one "first one"! And I have heard from many hunters that they wish they had gotten their first one mounted. If finances are an issue, call me and we'll discuss options. Let's encourage the young hunters to become life-long hunters!

Words to the wise: If you’re going to have a deer mounted you need to get it to me within 3 days, even if the weather is cold. If you’re using a processor don’t wait for him to call you to tell you that your meat is ready. Keep on him regarding the cape. Call me if you want a couple of recommendations for a processor.
Heads for European mounts need to be brought in to me within 7 days. I will not accept rotten stinky heads!
And one more thing: if you happen to take a fox or coyote you need to get it to me within 24 hours as they spoil quickly! Do not field dress them or freeze them whole. In particular coyotes can spoil in the freezer before they are frozen.

Another cool detail about hunting in Texas: you can shoot 2 bucks in one county and a 3rd buck in another county. The guy who owns the property we will be hunting owns land in 2 adjoining counties. Last year my friend Paul shot 3 bucks and his daughter shot 2. So am I looking forward to this adventure?....Naah! (Just kidding!)

Hey folks. Couple things:
1) I could use some good sized capes. (20” or more behind the ears) If you take a nice size buck that you’re going to have a European mount done, I’d appreciate it if you would let me keep the cape. If you have to pay a processor to cape it I’ll credit you that amount towards the European mount. But it needs to be a size I can use.
2). If you’re going to bring me something to be mounted please give me at least a 1/2 day heads up so I can adjust my plans accordingly. Thank you!

Hi folks. Just a reminder that in an effort to control my work load I will not be accepting new deer mount clients again this year. The only exceptions are those that are referred to me by Triple C processing or are immediate family of previous clients. Please do not refer your friends to me! I’m 70 years old and would like to be outside during the good weather months as long as I’m physically able.
I look forward to seeing my previous clients this fall. May God bless you with enjoyable, memorable and safe days in the deer woods!

While hunting this morning this guy stopped by about 12 feet away to check me out. You never know what you might see when you sit in the woods for a couple hours.

Here's a further detail on my upcoming hunting trip to Texas: I'll fly down on Nov 14 and return on Nov 19, so I'll be back and available for the New York southern zone fi****ms opener. This will be a 4 day DIY hunt, which my buddy Paul has done successfully several times.
