The leading causes of workplace death and injury are not always the same. Transportation incidents were the leading cause of workplace death in 2024. However, contact incidents; overexertion, repetitive motion and bodily condition; and slips, trips and falls were the leading causes of nonfatal injuries involving Days Away From Work (DAFW) from 2023-2024.
How do we lower these numbers and move safety forward?
Preventing these incidents requires targeted awareness programs, comprehensive safety training, and prevention-focused design modifications. By implementing solutions that make safety a daily consideration, we can reduce the number of incidents and ensure everyone makes it home safe and healthy.
