Three Days. Three Communities. One Big Celebration.

Last weekend, Ravena, Coeymans and Coeymans Hollow came together to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with three days of community, history, family fun and patriotism.

From Friday night’s block party at Mosher Park to Saturday’s parade, colonial demonstrations, local vendors and fireworks over the Hudson River, the weekend was filled with moments that brought neighbors together.

Then on Sunday, the celebration continued in Coeymans Hollow with history tours and open houses at local landmarks and organizations, including The Little Red Schoolhouse, the Ravena Grange, Trinity United Methodist Church, the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation and the Chimney Top site.

The weekend was a celebration of America’s history, but it was also a celebration of our community — the volunteers, organizations, families and residents who continue to make this area so special.

Summer is a great time for RCS student-athletes to stay active, build skills and get ready for the upcoming sports seasons!

RCS Athletics are offering a variety of FREE summer opportunities, including:

• Football Team Camp & Workouts
• Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Workouts
• Swim & Dive Opportunities
• Open Tennis Courts
• Volleyball Summer League
• Summer Lifting & Skill Development

There are also fee-based summer camps for cheerleading, volleyball and softball.

Registration for RCS fall sports opens July 17 for JV and varsity athletes and July 31 for modified athletes. Fall sports physicals will be held Aug. 6.

Whether your student is looking to sharpen their skills, try something new or prepare for the upcoming season, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved this summer.

For generations, parades have brought the Ravena-Coeymans community together. From the early Decoration Day processions of the 1800s to the hometown celebrations we still enjoy today.

As our community comes together this weekend for America's 250 Celebration, we're continuing a tradition that has connected neighbors for well over a century. We hope you'll join the community for three days of patriotic fun, community pride, and unforgettable memories.
