Alcove’s landscape holds more history than meets the eye 🌿
Once powered by Hannacroix Creek, this area was home to grist, wool, and paper mills dating back to the late 1700s. From water-powered industry to the Valley Paper Mill’s towering 98-foot chimney, Alcove played a surprising role in early manufacturing—until fire ended the mill era in 1892.
Today, all that remains are echoes of innovation, hard work, and the creek that started it all.
