Have those three dates been checked against each other?

Consider a holiday gift bundle. Marketing approves the promotion, but the packaging size still needs testing. Purchasing is waiting for final artwork. The store team expects bags before the display goes up.

Each team can be making progress while the overall launch remains at risk.

Your holiday campaign may be ready. Is your packaging ready to support it?

Before approving the launch, I would run through these seven checks:

1. Required date: When must packaging be received, checked, and ready for use?
2. Quantity: Does the order reflect expected transactions, product bundles, and existing usable stock?
3. Specification: Are size, material, handles or closures, and print details confirmed?
4. Artwork: Is there one approved final file and a named approver?
5. Sample: Has the packaging been checked with the actual products inside?
6. Delivery: Are the destination, receiving contact, and distribution to each location arranged?
7. Backup: If something changes, is there an available alternative and a deadline for deciding?

Give every unanswered item an owner and a due date.

For me, “packaging ordered” is the start of a status update. The useful question is whether the team will have what it needs when the promotion begins.

Which of these seven checks needs attention before your next holiday launch?
