Last week McDougall Communications took on the Finger Lakes for a day of agency planning and community connection. We started the day on Honeoye Lake, stepping away from our desks to talk strategy and look ahead at what’s next for our team and our clients. Then it was on to Canandaigua Lake, where we supported The Arc Ontario’s 34th annual Crusin’ for a Cause fundraiser. A great way to spend a day with the team as summer winds down. 🛥️ ☀️

We picked up this classic Southern California surf van magnet while working with Ionis Pharmaceuticals, headquartered in Carlsbad. Over several years, we partnered with the RNA and DNA innovator to help its senior executive team clearly communicate its vision, pipeline, and value to investment and pharmaceutical sectors.

We loved getting to play a small part in a pediatric vision screening event last week at The Strong Museum!

Myopia (nearsightedness) is on the rise in kids, and early screenings like this one can help catch it before it progresses. Helping connect families with resources like this is exactly the kind of work we're proud to support.

In a world where social media platforms are encouraging users to enhance posts with AI and long-form content can be written in seconds, brands need to be careful not to lose their authentic voice along the way.

A strong, recognizable voice is what helps a brand stand apart from competitors and build genuine connections with its audience. When everyone starts relying on the same tools and content begins to sound alike, it becomes harder to distinguish one brand from another (and frankly, that’s pretty boring!).

Two days, two time zones, two panels. One of the agency’s strengths is not only telling intriguing stories, but also driving the underlying research that uncovers new facts, perceptions, and insights.

Representing long-time client Contact Lens Institute, Mike McDougall presented data this week that’s helping shape the future of eye care.

On Thursday morning, he partnered with Jennifer Liao, OD, FAAO, FSLS of the New England College of Optometry and the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) to bring CLI’s cross-generational findings to university educators around the globe.

The next day, he was in Chicago for the United Opticians Association Leadership Conference, moderating an all-star panel (Craig Norman, Michael Gzik, Scott Samples) surrounding CLI’s work to encourage category engagement from the opticianry profession.
