🗝️Fort Mose — Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first legally sanctioned free African settlement in what is now the United States. In 1738, the Spanish governor of Florida chartered the settlement of Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose, or Fort Mose for short, as a settlement for those fleeing slavery from the English colonies in the Carolinas.

🗝️ACCORD Civil Rights Museum — Documents the local civil rights movement, focusing on the 1960s struggle for equality, and is housed in the former dental office of Dr. Robert B. Hayling, a key local leader. It features artifacts from when Martin Luther King, Jr. visited, the Monson Motor Lodge sign and Cora Tyson’s bible. It serves as the starting point for the ACCORD Freedom Trail, a self-guided tour of historic sites.

🗝️ ACCORD Freedom Trail — 31 historic civil rights markers. The trail, created and maintained by the 40th Anniversary to Commemorate the Civil Rights Demonstrations (ACCORD), highlights key locations from the 1964 Civil Rights Movement, including churches, businesses, and private homes.

Presented in honor of Juneteenth 2026 and Black Music Month, The Soul of Blackness pays tribute to the journey toward freedom and the extraordinary contributions of African Americans through the power of music and storytelling.

Dr. Johnny Sanders is nominated for a 2026 Stellar Gospel Music Award as contemporary choir of the year. More than a performance, this event supports the mission of the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center: Uplifting, preserving, and sharing African American heritage

🎶FREE SUMMER CONCERTS! June 18-Sept 3: The City of St. Augustine presents the 35th annual summer music series, Concerts in the Plaza every Thursday from 6-8 PM in the gazebo of the Plaza de la Constitucion in downtown St. Augustine, between King Street and Cathedral Plaza.
