As order volumes grow, fulfillment centers face increasing pressure to improve throughput, maintain accuracy, and meet customer expectations—all while controlling operating costs.

Automation can help bridge that gap.

Here are a few ways automated labeling can support more efficient fulfillment operations:

• Increase throughput: Apply labels quickly and consistently to keep orders moving.
• Reduce manual labor: Free employees from repetitive labeling tasks so they can focus on higher-value activities.
• Improve accuracy: Reduce labeling errors that can lead to shipping delays, rework, and added costs.
• Support future growth: Build a labeling process that can keep pace as order volumes increase.

The goal isn’t simply to do more with less. It’s to build a fulfillment operation that can scale efficiently without adding unnecessary labor and complexity.

At CTM Labeling Systems, we help businesses streamline labeling with automated solutions designed to meet their operational needs.

This system is designed to apply two preprinted labels onto a product. The first 360a Model Y label applicator applies a RFID label onto the side panel of the product. The second 360a Model Y uses a swing tamp to apply a label onto the front panel of the product. Then a brush is used to corner wrap the label onto the adjacent side panel.

This system is designed to apply labels to the top, front and back of products. The products enter the conveyor and are spaced by the metering wheel. They then pass underneath the first 360a Model Y label applicator where the top label is merged onto the product. From there they enter the top trap and pass the other two 360a Model Y label applicators. As the products travel past the front and back labels are merged onto the products. They then pass through the secondary impresser to ensure the labels are firmly applied. The system also uses an exit backlog sensor. The exit backlog sensor stops the conveyor when there is a jam at the end of conveyor. Once the products have been cleared the conveyor resumes.

📦 What Is End-of-Line Packaging — and Why Does It Matter?

End-of-line packaging is where production meets distribution. It’s the final step that ensures products are properly packed, labeled, and prepared for shipment — directly impacting efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

From case sealing and labeling to palletizing and stretch wrapping, this stage plays a critical role in:
✔ Improving throughput
✔ Reducing manual labor and errors
✔ Protecting products in transit
✔ Supporting traceability and compliance

When optimized, end-of-line packaging doesn’t just close out the production process — it strengthens your entire supply chain.

If you're evaluating automation upgrades or looking to improve line efficiency, this breakdown is a great place to start:

If your labeling strategy is built around “just staying compliant,” you’re already behind.

FSMA 204 and supply chain traceability requirements are pushing manufacturers to capture more data than ever.

But here’s the bigger opportunity:
That data shouldn’t just satisfy a regulation. It should make your operation better.
- Lot numbers.
- Expiration dates.
- GTINs.
- Serial numbers.
- Production data.
- Traceability information.

All of that information is only useful if it can reliably follow the product through the supply chain.

And that starts with the label.

The CTM 3600a-PA Printer Applicator helps manufacturers automate the process of printing variable data and applying accurate, readable labels directly to products and cases.

No manual labeling. No pre-printed labels sitting on a shelf waiting for the right product.

No relying on operators to apply the right label at the right time.
Print the data you need. Apply it where you need it. Keep the product moving.

Because compliance should be the floor—not the ceiling.

The companies that get the most value from traceability won't be the ones simply asking: “How do we meet the requirement?”

They'll be asking: “How can we use better data to build a faster, more accurate, more connected supply chain?”

That’s where automated print-and-apply labeling becomes more than a compliance tool. It becomes part of the infrastructure.

Consumers make purchasing decisions in seconds—and packaging often makes the first impression before the product ever gets a chance.

One detail that's frequently overlooked is label placement.

A preprinted label that's consistently applied in the correct position does more than meet production requirements. It protects your brand image by creating a clean, professional appearance that builds consumer confidence. On the other hand, crooked, inconsistent, or poorly positioned labels can distract from your packaging design and unintentionally communicate lower quality.

At the end of the day, consumers don't separate packaging quality from product quality—they see them as one and the same.

That's why investing in precise, repeatable label application is so important.

The CTM 360a Model Y Label Applicator is designed to deliver accurate, consistent label placement while offering the flexibility to adapt to different application methods and changing production needs. The result is packaging that reinforces your brand on every product that leaves the line.

What's the ROI of a reliable labeling system?

For warehouses and fulfillment centers, it's measured in more than just labels applied—it's reflected in every order shipped accurately, every barcode scanned successfully, and every minute of uptime maintained.

When labeling equipment or shipping labels fail, the costs add up quickly:
• Rework and relabeling
• Shipping delays
• Inventory discrepancies
• Chargebacks from retail partners
• Increased labor costs
• Customer dissatisfaction

Investing in dependable labeling applicators helps reduce these hidden costs while improving operational efficiency.

The result?
✔ Faster throughput
✔ Higher first-pass scan rates
✔ Less downtime
✔ Reduced waste
✔ Greater labor efficiency
✔ More accurate shipments

As order volumes continue to increase, the most successful fulfillment operations recognize that labeling isn't just another step in the process—it's a key driver of productivity and profitability.

At CTM Labeling Systems, we help warehouses and fulfillment centers maximize the return on every shipment with labeling solutions built for reliability, accuracy, and long-term performance.

Because the best ROI isn't just saving money—it's preventing costly mistakes before they happen.
