The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce invites members to celebrate business and organizational excellence on Thursday, October 29th at 11:30 AM at the Annual Awards Luncheon at the Wicomico Civic Center in the Normandy Arena. Wicomico Recreation & Parks & Tourism will also present its Annual Tourism Awards.

Current members of the SACC are invited to nominate member businesses and individuals who have made a significant impact within various areas of the Chamber business community. You must be a current member to submit a nomination or to be nominated for an award. Self nominations are accepted.

Award categories include:

- Small Business of the Year
- Medium Business of the Year

- Business Professional of the Year

- Agriculture Ambassador of the Year

This award is reserved to acknowledge an individual who has demonstrated a history of career achievement, a sustained commitment to the advancement of our region through their unselfish leadership, a commitment to making a difference, and unparalleled professionalism among their peers in the community.

From Prompt to Powerful Story: Using AI Without Losing the Human Connection

AI can help you create content faster—but storytelling is what makes that content connect.

Join Keyanna Bowen, founder of East + Lane, and Jenni Pastusak of D3 on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Noon - 1:00 PM, for an interactive Marketing & Media Workshop that brings together two skills every communicator needs today: strong storytelling and effective AI prompting.

An interiors photographer, designer, stylist and former Magnolia Network TV host, Keyanna has built a career around visual storytelling and creating content that connects with an audience. She’ll kick off the workshop by breaking down the elements of a compelling story and sharing a practical framework attendees can use to strengthen their own content.

Then, Jenni will take that same storytelling framework and show how it can be applied to AI—turning audience, message, context and purpose into stronger prompts that produce more relevant, authentic and engaging results.

You’ll see firsthand the difference between giving AI a basic prompt and giving it a story to work with—and leave with a practical approach you can use for social media, marketing content, emails, blogs and more.

With nearly four decades in television news, Hammond has witnessed - and reported on - some of the most significant stories to shape the Delmarva Peninsula and beyond. From covering major events across the Eastern Shore to traveling overseas to tell the stories of local troops serving in the Middle East and Somalia, his remarkable career offers a unique perspective on the people, history, and events that have shaped our region.

Hammond will share stories and reflections form his nearly 40 years in the broadcast news business and a look ahead at the future of broadcasting journalism, and how changing technology, media consumption and audience expectation may shape the way news is delivered in years to come.

An award-winning journalist, Hammond's work has earned an Emmy Award, a national Edward R. Murrow Award, and numerous honors from the Associated Press and Radio Televisions News Directors Association.
